Problems with deer? Use your hair!

If you have deer problems on your property, you might want to let your hair down. No, literally -- you might want to put your hair on the ground. Salons in Europe are sweeping up all the cut hair left on the floor of their salons, turning it into sheets, and wrapping new tree saplings in it. Turns out the deer don't like human hair!

Claims already being submitted for the new "anti-weaponization fund"

They say they're not being greedy, but you decide: do you think the former Proud Boys leader who was sentenced to 22 years for "seditious conspiracy" relating to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol deserves 2 to 5 million dollars from the new "anti-weaponization fund"? Greg and Holly both question the legitimacy of these claims, especially from people convicted of injuring police officers during the storming on the U.S. Capitol five years ago.

Water Safety: The importance of swim lessons

More than half of Americans don't know how to swim. They either can't swim outright, or they can't do basic things like treading water for a minute, swimming 25 yards, or getting out of a pool without a ladder. As more people head to the water during the summer months, we're spending some time talking about the importance of water safety. Ashley Spence, swim lesson instructor at Clearfield Aquatic and Fitness Center, joins Greg and Holly to talk about swim lessons for both kids AND adults.

Combatting racism in religion

It's an unfortunate reality: racism exists... even in religious communities. Ronell Hugh, President of Genesis Group (an organization for Black members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), recently shared his experiences dealing with racism. He joins the program and says these kinds of things have to be addressed, otherwise things will never change.

Solutions Utah board member Dave Durocher joins Inside Sources to share insights on the state of homelessness right now, and on what's being done to provide real solutions.

New polling shows data center deeply unpopular among rural, suburban voters

Who do you think is more against the data center in Box Elder County: rural, suburban, or urban voters? It's not even close. New polling just out this morning from the Deseret News and Hinckley Institute of Politics shows that 61% of suburban and 53% of rural voters oppose the plans. On the flip side, more urban voters actually support the project: 52% for versus 42% against. Deseret News politics reporter Brigham Tomco joins Inside Sources to explain.

Gov. Cox declares statewide state of emergency over drought

The drought continues to worsen across the state, and we still have several months of hotter, drier weather to go. In other words, it's not looking great. Today, Governor Spencer Cox declared a statewide state of emergency over the drought. In his executive order, the governor says the drought comes on the heels of the worst snowpack on record. We hear from the governor and other state leaders during a LIVE news conference. Holly and Greg then share thoughts on a question that was asked of the governor about water and data centers.

National food chains moving into the "dirty soda" business

Lovers of the "dirty soda" might be glad to have more choices. The style of drink got its start here in Utah, and now national chains are moving into the same world. In case you don't know, a dirty soda is a non-alcoholic creation using soda pop, creamer, flavored syrups, and even fresh fruit. But as chains like McDonald's start offering these drinks, are they doing the original companies... "dirty?"

Osmond family bringing new outdoor concert venue to Provo Canyon

It sounds a bit like the Tuacahn of Northern Utah -- what do you think? The Osmond family says they will build a world-class concert venue near the mouth of Provo Canyon. This would be on an old mining facility just across Highway 189 from Canyon View Park. There are lots of questions about the development, least of which is the effect of additional traffic on an already-busy stretch of highway. Greg and Holly discuss the plans and read listener comments, too.

President Trump's sway on the GOP shown during primary elections

Another one bites the dust -- Representative Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky) lost his Republican primary last night. Massie hasn't been holding back about his concerns with the Trump Administration, including the Iran War and the Epstein files. Is this a telling sign of the Republican Party today -- support President Trump or your out? It happened to Massie and to Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy, and some in the GOP worry it'll happen in the Texas race for Senate. POLITICO politics reporter Sam Benson joins the conversation.
