28. Heather Burgett - Elevate & Illuminate Your Life with Shine Strategies

On this final episode in Season One of “The Shine Strategy” podcast, it’s just you and me!

I decided to take this time to bookend our season with a solo episode, so we could look back at what we did with the show and how it is helping our listeners. We discovered and absorbed so much this year—powerful ideas from our guests, the ins-and-outs of podcasting, and how to continue to evolve as spiritual beings having a human experience. I’m  so excited to come back next year with many lessons learned. Isn’t that one of the secrets to life? Live and learn...

In looking back, it’s a complete honor and humbling experience to look at who actually showed up for the show. And I have to share that this is also the magic of PR and what I do. Being able to ask the right people for what you want and enroll them in your vision for the desired outcome—well, that’s a big part of it. So many of my high profile guests told me, “I don’t normally do this…” And then they agreed to be interviewed by someone they didn’t really know—for a brand new podcast with no stats or track record. A little of my PR magic? I’d say so...

In this episode, I break down what public relations is and share more about how it actually works and can specifically apply to you. It’s such a mystery for so many people, and I recently realized that even my mom still doesn’t understand what I do after all these years. So, I get a little deeper into the nuts and bolts in this episode and share how it has helped not only my clients, students and members, but also my own business.

My intention was to bring you, my listener, inspirational stories and strategies from leading visionaries who are out there making the world a better place by using their high-profile platforms for good. And, also to make sure that you know that you can do it too!  Guys...I think we did it!

Thanks so much for listening, and I’ll see you in 2020. With much love, your shine strategist, Heather B.

26. Christopher Witecki - Sirius Joy & Being the Star that You Are

On this episode of “The Shine Strategy,” I’m honored to introduce you to someone who I love to follow: the incredible Sensei Christopher Witecki—a psychic-astrologer, host of the “Namaste Today” tv web series, and Sirius Joy software creator. He has combined his special talents to form a spiritually-inspired life-coaching program for people so that they can become the stars that they really are. Christopher was the first astrologer on YouTube, and he continues to be a popular spiritual teacher through his Sirius Joy channel. His weekly astrology series, “Namaste Today,” provides guidance for thousands of subscribers, and it’s now also available on all major podcasting platforms. He has pioneered a new arm of astrological study he coins “step astrology,” and his proudest achievement is a real-time service called Sirius*JoY. Clients enter their time and date of birth, and he provides a customized, day-by-day and hour-to-hour diet of personal spiritual life coaching. His method combines the knowledge of numerology, astrology, and sacred geometry into a definitive, step-by-step method to self-realization. Christopher believes that self-realization and peace within oneself will lead to world peace. He has invested himself in organizations, retreats, and hours of YouTube programming that promote love for oneself and humankind. I love the work Christopher is doing, and I tell you: it is spot on. He has an uncanny knack for tapping into the mass consciousness and helping us all understand what is really happening on the planet. Get ready to learn how you can start or deepen your own awakening.

20. Lila Javan - 3x Cancer Survivor & Climb2Cure for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

On this episode of “The Shine Strategy,” I’m proud to introduce to you a dynamic woman and longtime dear friend of mine, Lila Javan. We attended high school together at Northfield Mount Hermon, and who would have known all those years ago that Lila would become a 3x cancer survivor and the founder of Climb2Cure for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), raising over $2 million to date for cancer research. In 2010, Lila’s life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia, AML. After intense treatment and a bone marrow transplant, Lila went almost four years of being cancer-free but relapsed two more times: in 2014, and again in 2018. She has survived aggressive chemotherapy treatment and multiple bone marrow and stem cell transplants—one from her sister and also from a stranger in Germany (thanks to Be The Match). Just before her relapse in 2014, Lila was planning a solo trip to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. The very week that she was booking flights, she discovered that her cancer was back. While in the hospital, a friend designed a window frame with a beautiful photograph of Kilimanjaro in it and hung it on the wall opposite her bed. Throughout her treatment, Lila would stare at that window and visualize herself climbing the mountain. Her doctors and nurses all asked about the picture and soon her solo trip became a group trip comprised of 12 doctors, nurses, therapists and friends. Lila then reached out to LLS to see if they could do the trek as a fundraiser for research, and "Climb2Cure" was born. Her solo climb evolved into a new LLS Team In Training fundraising platform that will continue for years to come and is expanding to other mountain tops. Lila's team raised an astonishing $133,000 for their first climb. To date, climbers have raised over $2M for cancer research. Lila’s strength is unbelievable. She is not only one of the physically strongest people I know, but her will and spirit are a shining example of how the energy you carry can literally heal you. Using visualization, she was able to look at her treatment as “training” which powered her through the rough days. She was able to run the LA marathon a mere 6 months after her first stem cell transplant! You won’t want to miss her unbelievable story and learn what you can do to continue to support the fight against cancer.

6. Nick Viall: Journey from Bachelor Nation to Entrepreneurship

In today’s episode, you’ll hear me chatting in-studio with Nick Viall about his journey from Bachelor Nation to entrepreneurship. He's widely known for starring in the 21st season of ABC’s “The Bachelor,” appearing twice on “The Bachelorette,” as well as on “Bachelor in Paradise.” Nick also had a stint on “Dancing With the Stars.” He has leveraged all this visibility to become a contemporary dating advice guru and host of the popular podcast, “The Viall Files.” Nick has also launched his own organic essential oils company, Natural Habits. His candidness about a career path from the corporate world into Hollywood and then as an entrepreneur is refreshing. Nick’s venture into the essential oils business is a result of following his business instincts and the desire to contribute something meaningful to the world. Having used essential oils to help manage his own anxiety, he started to notice that there was a gap in the space for oils that were blended and USDA Organic Certified. Soon after, Natural Habits was born with the certification, resulting in a collection of high quality organic essential oils that are accessible and easy to use in daily life.Nick has found a way to marry all his skills, experiences and passions to blaze a career path for himself that is authentic and strives to help others. Tune-in to hear how he’s pivoted his career multiple times in order to stay true to his passions.
