Mode Push - the American View of F1

F1 returns to the U.S. this weekend for the first time in 2024 for the Miami Grand Prix.  Max Verstappen won the first two races in Miami the last two seasons and all signs point to the three-time World Champion repeating hostory as no one can touch the fastest driver on earth.  Alex Kirry and Dan Jimenez make their podium finish predictions for the weekend but they alo discuss the insane rumors for the driver's market in 2025.  This will be the biggest shift of driver's leaving teams and swapping teammates in more than a decade.  The biggest asset on the market is car design geniius Adrian Newey  who will leave Red Bull in 2025.   Join the guys as they get you ready for one of the most anticipated races of the year so far.

The drama off the track continues as Dan Jimenez and Alex Kirry try to make sense of the rumors swirling around the Red Bull Racing team since innappropriate allegations by Christian Horner of an RB staffer were dismissed.  Now Max Verstappen's Dad, Jos, is actively tring to get Horner out of Red Bull and has threatened that Max would go to another team.  Sounds like a reality TV show but its the real world of F1 at the moment.  Dan and Alex also breakdown the actual race in Bahrain where Red Bull, or actually, Max Verstappen's dominance has continued with another win to start the season.  No one was anywhere close.  Can this weekend's race in Jeddah at the Saudi GP be more competitive?  Tune in as the guys make their predictions.

Alex Kirry and Dan Jimenez host Mode Push as the 2024 season is now less than a month away.  One big story after another have rolled out of the garages on the F1 grid without even a test lap being logged by the teams.  The news of the Andretti-Cadillac F1 team being denied possible entry into F1, at least for now is where the guys start.  The biggest driver news and seat swapping drama surrounded 7-time champion Lewis Hamilton and his announced move to the Ferrari F1 team after this season.  This of course will start a domino chain of drivers losing seats, changing teams and some even leaving F1 all because Hamilton will leave Mercedes AMG at the end of the 2024 season.  This biggest news of the offseason is that of Red Bull boss Christian Horner who is being accused of an inappropriate relationship by someone inside the Red Bull F1 team and is going to face an independant special attorney investigation starting Friday and many rumors of Horner losing his job at Red Bull have been swirling.  Too many storylines to miss as the guys are back for a third year of the Mode Push Podcast.

This week is a special episode of Mode Push with a breakdown of Alex Kirry and Carlos the producer's trip to the Strip of flashy Las Vegas and the very first (modern) Formula 1 race in Las Vegas.  Dan Jimenez and Alex sit down and go through the full experience at the track, in the VIP areas, the grandstands and the whole set up of one of the most labor intensive purpose built tracks to ever be put together on planet earth.  Alex describes for Dan how he and Carlos managed to hang out with VIPs and rub shoulders with racing legends while taking the whole weekend in.  If you've ever thought about making it to a race in person, Alex will walk you through the good, bad and ugly of what was an epic weekend that wasn't without its own share of controversey and drama.  THe race itself was one of the better races on the calendar but is this race in Vegas a long term move that will stick for F1?  Join us!  

This week, Mode Push has made the big time with a special preview episode of the podcast.  Alex Kirry is joined by co-host Dan Jimenez and Producer Carlos Fortun to preview the much anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix.  Alex and Carlos will be headed to Sin City with press passes in hand to cover the race for KSL Sports.  The guys talk about the positive and negative press the $500M gamble that F1 is taking on the race in glitzy Vegas.  Despite all the surrounding story lines of maybe the most hyped race in Formula 1 history, the race itelf is a massive mystery with cold weather anticipated to cause issues for teams in the tire department and an unknown track that has never been raced except for in a simulator.  Dan talks about the track specific engineering and the graining that cold weather causes for these Pirelli Tires and the guys all take their guess at the first podium of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.  Now with falling prices of hotel rooms they are also trying to convince Dan to join them on the strip for the race of a lifetime! 

This week on the podcast, Dan Jimenez and Alex Kirry run through the wild Mexico GP that saw a bad crash in the first turn that took Checo Perez out of his home race in less than a minute.  Where does Red Bull go with Checo now?  They discuss.  Red Bull rumors are flying around the paddock but when should we take them seriously?  With another dominant win for Max Verstappen, the rest of the field had an amazing race to try to catch up in their own races that they have for the rest of the season.  Dan breaks down the circuit at Interlagos and how the race will work out for some of these teams who have millions at stake in the constructors race.  Plus, more drama in the rumors of drivers being fired or changing teams for 2024.  

The Race in Austin proved to be one of the more exciting and controversal races of the calendar in F1 this season.  Max Verstappen is still unstoppable but with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc being disqualified from the race, the podium changed and suddenly the race results were tunred on their head.  Dan Jimenez explains to Alex what rule was broken, why only 4 cars were tested to see who was cheating and why teams were quick to recognize that they had broken the rules by the thinnest of margins.   Alex and Dan also discuss the race in Mexico as Checo Perex will be feeling immense pressure to perfom at his home grand prix, maybe even to keep his seat at Red Bull.  

Alex Kirry and Dan Jimenez get together for another breakdown of the weekend at the Qatar Grand Prix where Max Verstappen is crowned champion for the third year in a rown and joins rarified air when it comes to historical champions in F1 history.  Where does Max Rank among the sports' best?  Plus, the race itself at the Losail Circuit was a bit of a disaster and PR nightmare for Formula 1 as drivers were retiring because of heat exaustion, nausea and dehydration while track limits became the biggest joke of the weekend.

The F1 Grid is back in North America this weekend after another dominant win for Max Verstappen and Red Bull in Barcelona two weeks ago.  Alex Kirry and Dan Jimenez discuss the jump Mercedes made in the attempt to rundown the Dutch driver with a double podium finish in Spain.  There could be hope that Red Bull isn't going to win every remaining race this season.  Thank heavens!  The guys also preview the Canadian GP as Aston Martin will be looking to get back on the podium and Ferrari will attempt to maintain some semblance of respectability and not fall totally behind the top three in the constructors race.  Also, Netflix has seen an even bigger jump in audience in their most recent season of Drive to Survive which could lead to an even bigger audience that will get into the resurgence of F1 across the US.
