Student vaping rates fall as Zyn becomes more popular
Get ready to do a victory dance, parents! According to the CDC, we're winning the battle with our kids when it comes to vaping. More than 1.6 million students reported vaping in the last month, which is 1/3 of the amount of students who reported vaping in 2019. Dave and Debbie discuss this positive trend and ask why are we seeing this decrease? It could be because the FDA cracked down on fruity flavors, but also because there are now many brands of nicotine pouches on the market, the most popular being Zyn. What is a Zyn and why has it become so popular?

Father of suspect in Georgia school shooting arrested and charged
The suspect's father in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia earlier this week allegedly bought the gun involved in the shooting for his son as a holiday present in 2023. That would put the gun purchase months after authorities initially contacted the family about a school shooting threat the year before. Dave and Debbie discuss and take listener calls. What should it take for parents to be held accountable for their child's actions?

Utah sees a drop in number of citations for speeding
The Utah Highway Patrol says the number of citations for excessive speeding is dropping. Officials credit a 2022 state law with helping rein in that problem, which they said became worse during the COVID-19 pandemic. From Memorial Day to Labor Day – the period known as the "100 Deadliest Days" – 101 people died in crashes, said UHP Lt. Cameron Roden. The news of the decreasing number of new speeding tickets is welcome to police, but would you as a driver support heavier police enforcement of driving? D2 takes calls.

New report shows housing affordability is the top issue for voters, regardless of their political party

Dave and Debbie talk about the rising costs of purchasing a starter home, and ask listeners "What year did you buy your first home and how much did you pay for it?" They also go over what else stood out from the report.
