Brock and Salk

A texter sent us a list of things Salk hates. He disagrees with some of them so, we go through them one by one. Then, we break down our thoughts on the latest mock draft selections for the Seahawks and discuss Daniel Jeremiah's response to whether the Seahawks should consider drafting Jaxson Dart.

Brock goes through the 12th guy of his 15 draft profiles, all leading up to No. 1 ahead of the NFL Draft. This time, he highlights Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson. After that, they bring on Mariners Insider Shannon Drayer to discuss the announcement of The Cal Raleigh Show (which she will host each week), the Mariners first homestand and more. In Blue 88, Brock dives in on a potential middle class QB that the Seahawks could draft, a draft prospect that he's completely out on and how Mike Macdonald shows at the owners meetings how he continues to develop as a head coach.

With the Mariners wrapping up their first homestand of the series, Brock and Salk go through what stood out to them the most. Then, they welcome on Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network to get his insight on how the Seahawks should approach the draft, which players he sees as a great fit for them, the Seahawks offseason and more.

Salk loves how the Mariners won yesterday's game to salvage the series and homestand. And against Tarik Skubal too! He outlines why. Later, they re-air the debate between Brock and Salk about what philosophy the Seahawks should use to draft at pick No. 18. Is there the options of only best available vs need? Or are there more options?

We discuss the things the Mariners can and can't control right now and where they can improve. Then, we discuss lackluster Shedeur Sanders comps, Jerry Jones upsetting Micah Parsons, and one former GM's opinion on why you can't wait until next year to draft a QB in Around the NFL. Plus, we bring our choices for worst sports commentary of the week to Salk to be judged in Trash Takes.

Brock goes through his next of 15 NFL Draft profiles and coming in at No. 13 is Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo. Then, the two debate whether the Seahawks should draft for need, best available or a third option at the 18th overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Brock and Salk go through some different options for who has been impacted the most by the Mariners slow start. They then go through a round of Which Is Better with a variety of different topics. In Blue 88, topics include one drastic difference between the Seahawks and Mariners, a piece of Tom Telesco analysis that he is spot on about and some noteworthy that Tim Hasselbeck said.

While the Mariners only had one hit in last night's loss, Salk also highlights the mental mistakes during the game as a major takeaway as well. Then, they re-air their conversation with ESPN's Jeff Passan to pick his brain on the start of the Mariners season, potential MLB labor disputes and more.

We discuss some wild things that were said by owner's and coaches at the NFL spring meeting. Then, we go over the pros and cons of a Seahawks trade proposal for a pro bowl guard from Bill Barnwell and we hear from you in Answer the Question Jerk. 

Brock and Salk go through the No. 14 player on Brock's 15 draft profiles keading up to the NFL Draft in USC center Jonah Monheim. After that, Jeff Passan of ESPN joins the show to share his takeaways on the Mariners first five games, Julio Rodriguez, the state of the game of baseball and plenty more.

Brock and Salk go through the Mariners loss to the Tigers and while they liked some of the at bats, they discuss why you can't take too much away from the game. They then bring on Brady Henderson of ESPN live from the NFL Owners Meetings in Florida to get his insight on DK Metcalf wanting out of Seattle for awhile, Mike Macdonald, the Seahawks offensive line and more. In Blue 88, Brock takes a look at if John Schneider is bluffing to the media, a potential Wyatt Teller trade to the Seahawks and what stood out from Jedd Fisch's press conference yesterday from UW spring football.

Salk opens the show by playing some sound from ESPN's Brady Henderson in which he states that DK Metcalf had requested multiple trades oout of Seattle before the one that went public a few weeks ago. Then, they replay their conversation with Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times on the Mariners first weekend of games, Cal Raleigh and more.

We go over another mock draft and it leads to a debate between Brock and Salk on whether the Seahawks should take a wide receiver in the first round or not. Then, Brock's college football partner and Tigers play by play announcer, Jason Benetti joins us to discuss tonight's Tigers Mariners game. Plus, Lyle reviews the Pearl Jam album Ten in Lyle Learns.

Brock goes through his first NFL Draft profile, his first of 15, in which he dives in on on Iowa linebacker Jay Higgins at No. 15. After that, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times hops on to discuss the Mariners first weekend of games, the infield defense, the new philosophy and more.

Brock and Salk both go through the weekend of Mariners baseball and discuss how crucial Julio Rodriguez's home run on Sunday was. They then chalk up what they learned about the Mariners through four early games. In Blue 88, topics include a spring number Brock saw over the weekend regarding the Seahawks,  what he took away from a conversation with Tom Cable and who ranked No. 16 on his Top 15 NFL Draft profiles list.

The Mariners split the first series of the year with the A's, but it wasn't pretty. Salk goes through it all to start the show. Then, everyone goes Around The Weekend with stories from the Mariners, March Madness and the torpedo bats.

Shannon Drayer joins the show to discuss the M's late game heroics to win opening night. Then, in Need to Know, we discuss the M's win, opening night festvitities, the Kraken's setting a franchise record for goals in a period and the latest on NBA expansion from Adam Silver. Plus, we take your calls as we do every Friday.

Salk looks at all of the aggressive playstyle that the Mariners displayed in game one and wonders how much of a trend that will truly be and how well it will work. Afterwards, they bring on Gee Scott for his weekly appearance and get into talking about the Mariners along with his son Gee Scott Jr. having a fantastic pro day.

Opening Day was vindicating for Jerry Dipoto and Salk breaks down why. Brock then hops on to share all of his thoughts on Opening Day and what really jumped out to him. In Blue 88, Brock dives in on a trend that is developing more for draft prospects, how Deion Sanders may be a trend setter and why he believes the criticisms of the Seahawks free agent acquisitons fall short.

The Mariners come away with an Opening Night over the A's and Salk opens the show by recapping the entire scene. Then, they re-air their conversation with Mariners bench coach Manny Acta to discuss what has him excited for the season, his expectations for Julio Rodriguez this year and plenty more.

We hear from someone who wants a Salk intervention, Maura's inner voice and a strong warning for Brock in Here's the Thing. Then, Manny Acta joins us to talk about his move from third base coach to bench coach, what's been different this spring and what opening day means to him.

Brock and Salk highlight their number one most intriguing Mariner ahead of Opening Day in Julio Rodriguez. Afterwards, they welcome on Mariners broadcaster Rick Rizzs to hear all of his excitement and stories ahead of Mariners Opening Day.

Brock and Salk share each of their five reasons as to why they love Opening Day so much and specifically point to what it is that they enjoy. They then go through the "what if's" for the Mariners in 2025 and how the results of the season could go a variety of different ways. Salk is incredibly excited for Opening Day and he begins the show documenting why. Then., they re-air their conversation with former catcher AJ Pierzynski, now of FOX Sports and Foul Territory, to get all of his thoughts on the Cal Raleigh extension.

Our M's insider Shannon Drayer joins us to discuss where Julio is at heading into this season. Then, Salk reveals the number two most intriguing Mariner on his countdown and we find out who had the best Trash Take of the week.
