“God can redeem anything—our story, their story, and every mistake in between.”
“Have I done enough?” If you’ve ever asked yourself that question as a mom, you’re not alone.
In this episode of Girl Talk, Carol, Kelly, and Tricia get real about parenting kids through faith, mistakes, and milestones. From sending a kid off to college, to trusting God with their spiritual walk, this conversation is full of encouragement for tired parents who wonder if they're making a difference.
The girls talk about surrender, the gift of community, and the reminder that God loves our kids even more than we do. He can redeem anything—our mistakes and theirs.
Pull up a chair, mama. You’ll leave feeling seen, understood, and reminded that you’re not in this alone.
Remember...
You’re not called to do God’s job. Our role is to point our kids to Jesus, but only He can stir their hearts.
Trust means surrender. Parenting is often a control battle, but real peace comes when we trust God completely with our children.
We need each other. Encouragement and mentorship from other women help us remember that we’re not alone!
You don’t have to carry this burden alone. Pray for your kids, trust the Lord with their future, and lean on your sisters in Christ for encouragement. And if you need prayer, we’d love to hear from you—email us at girltalk@thelightfm.org
“If you’re saying, ‘I won’t get caught,’ that’s a red flag. It’s time to talk to the Lord about it.”
What if your worst moment was displayed on the big screen for the world to see? This episode of Girl Talk Podcast is all about how your life can change in just one second. Carol, Tricia and Kelly talk about how the "Coldplay couple"can teach us a few lessons. We'll be reminded that our secrets will find us out and what may seem 'not so bad' can turn our lives upside down.
The girls also talk about community, safeguards, and the importance of surrounding yourself with people who will lovingly tell you the truth. Whether you’re married or single, this episode challenges us to stay alert, stay humble, and keep coming back to the grace of Jesus.
Life can change in a moment. One choice can alter everything—but Jesus offers grace and a way back through repentance.
The company you keep matters. Friends who encourage you in sin aren’t true friends. Seek out people who will speak truth into your life.
Repentance isn’t just feeling sorry. It’s a change of direction—turning around and coming home to Jesus.
Take a moment this week to ask the Lord: “Is there anything in my life I’m trying to hide?” Be honest with Him—He already knows, and His heart is for you to come home.
Then, share what you’re learning with a trusted friend who will point you back to Jesus. Don’t walk alone.

“Shame tells you who you’re not—Jesus tells you who you are.”
We’re getting real this week—talking about shame. The kind that sticks to your identity and whispers lies about who you are. Carol shares how God began speaking to her through the phrase “despising its shame” (Hebrews 12:2), and how the realization that Jesus died not only for your sin—but also for your shame—changed her perspective.
We dig into the story of the prodigal son, our culture’s obsession with image, and how shame keeps us stuck in a false identity. But there’s good news: Jesus took our shame so we don’t have to live in it. There’s freedom for you in Christ—and we want that for you.
If you’ve ever felt “less than” because of your past, your appearance, your marital status, or anything else—pull up a chair. You’re not alone, and there’s hope.
Jesus didn’t just die for your sin—He died for your shame. He wore a shameful crown, endured a shameful death, and ran toward us like the father in Luke 15 to cover our shame.
Shame often stems from a wrong belief about God. We assign value to things He never did and carry guilt He already paid for.
Your identity is in Christ, not your circumstances. Whether it’s divorce, weight, anxiety, or insecurity—none of it defines you. You are the bride of Christ.

Don't let the summer slip by in survival mode. Make memories, grow deeper, and say ‘yes’ to spiritual reset.
Summer might be made for sandals and sunshine, but your faith doesn’t have to take a vacation. In this week’s episode, Carol, Kelly, and Tricia talk about how to be intentional with your spiritual life during the slower summer months. From Bible reading goals and new study methods to discipleship bands and gratitude journals, this conversation is full of practical ideas to help you grow closer to Jesus—even if your days include beach towels and lazy mornings.
Whether you're craving spiritual reset, stuck in a “lazy river” of faith, or just want this summer to count, you’ll find encouragement, accountability, and probably a few laughs along the way.
Intentionality beats drifting – No one drifts toward spiritual growth. Set goals and check in with yourself to stay on track.
Small choices matter – Five minutes with Jesus, memorizing one verse, or journaling one sentence can transform your day—and your heart.
Invite others in – Discipleship bands, accountability friends, or even a friend at church who “looks you in the eyeballs” can help you stay rooted and growing.
Set your spiritual goals, grab your Bible (and maybe a girlfriend or two), and let’s make this a summer of real growth.

If you’ve ever whispered, “God, I don’t want to walk through this,” you’re not alone. Carol, Tricia, and Kelly get real about fear, control, spiritual warfare, and those seasons where your faith is tested in the deepest way. From honest confessions to powerful truths about God’s presence in the struggle, the girls remind us that we don’t walk through hard things alone—and we’re stronger when we do it together.
3 Takeaways from the Episode:
Fear isn’t always fear—it can be control, comfort, or spiritual attack. Discerning the root helps us fight it with truth.
God doesn’t give us more than we can handle with Him. He’ll prepare you for what’s coming, even when you don’t see it yet.
Our feelings don’t define our faith. Sometimes the step of faith comes before the feelings follow.

“Brokenness, when surrendered, God can use it. But if you
try to hold on, it will just keep hurting you.” - Carol
Can God really use someone who’s failed—or someone we flat-out disagree with? Carol, Tricia, and Kelly aren’t afraid to dig into the hard and holy tension of moral failure, public ministry, and the grace that makes redemption possible. They open up about personal pain, what restoration can look like, and how brokenness in the hands of Jesus becomes a powerful testimony.
It’s a conversation about discernment, the danger of personality worship, and why it's so important to keep our eyes on Jesus—not just the people who talk about Him.
God Uses Imperfect People: No one is perfect—and that includes pastors, speakers, and us. Our job isn’t to idolize people, but to follow Jesus.
Discernment is Essential: Look for sound doctrine, accountability, and fruit. Ask the Holy Spirit and wise counsel to guide you as you choose who to listen to.
Your Brokenness Isn’t Wasted: When surrendered to Christ, even the messiest parts of your story can become the most powerful parts of your testimony.
Whether you're wrestling with a public figure's failure or your own, this episode is a grace-filled reminder that God is still working—and He never wastes a surrendered heart.
