Lamar Reviews - "Trust Me: The False Prophet" (Airdate 4/17/2026)
My Smokin’ Hot Wife Carla put me on this
documentary. She is obsessed with all things
Scientology and Warren Jeffs, the former leader of
a polygamous sect of the FLDS church, who is
serving a life sentence for marrying and having
sex with teenage girls. A truly terrible human
being.
I sat down around 9 to watch it for a few minutes
before going to bed. The next thing I knew it’s
after midnight and I hadn’t taken my eyes off the
screen.
Even though Warren Jeffs is in prison he was still
considered the Prophet and continued giving
commands from behind bars. He had decreed that
no one was to marry or have children while he
was gone. In comes a man named Samuel
Bateman.
Samuel Bateman was a nobody that was never
taken seriously. Bateman re-invented himself and
created a splinter group by convincing them that
Jeffs was actually dead and the media was lying.
He also convinced them he was the new prophet,
and God was talking to him directly and they had
to listen to him.
He had three devout followers, Torrance a wealthy
man with a company, his brother Lud, and friend
Moroni that worked for him. They believed
everything that came out of Bateman’s mouth.
Money was not a problem, Samuel Bateman and
his wives traveled in two brand new Bentleys that
cost $300,000 apiece.
Bateman had 20 wives, at least half of them were
underage, 3 of them 10-years-old and under, that
he was sexually abusing. In the world of being a
piece of crap, Bateman gives Jeffs a run for his
money.
This would have been impossible to watch without
throwing up, but a hero rode in wearing pink
cowboy boots and matching pink cowboy hat.
Her name is Christine Marie and she and her
husband Tolga filmed this documentary. Christine
was very familiar with the FLDS and knew the
women in the community needed her help. Whyt is
why she and her husband moved to Short Creek
Utah. Her and her husband pretended to be in
awe of Bateman and offered to make a
documentary about what a great man he was.
They actually made a music video that Bateman
wanted to send to Queen Elizabeth while she was
still alive. He had plans for a huge mansion that he
hoped she would move into with him.
Christine is a very interesting woman, she was a
former Ms. Michigan, an escape artist, and my
favorite, a ventriloquist. She has a PhD in Media
Psychology, a Clinical Trauma Specialist and has
a background in cult psychology and human
trafficking. She has firsthand knowledge because
her first husband was a “false prophet” that sex
trafficked her. She seems to know the ropes and
what these women were going through.
To say she busted Samuel Bateman wide open is
an understatement. 4 episodes 45 to 50 minutes
each, Rated TV-MA. You will not be able to turn it
off.
My Score: 5 Cold Budweisers
