Episode Description

63-year-old Chef Daniel Brophy was the Oregon Culinary Institute's most eccentric instructor for many years. His hands-on method of foraging wild herbs & incorporating them in his dishes was only one example of what made him so special, in and out of the kitchen. All seemed well in Daniel’s personal life as well, having been married to his wife Nancy for over 20 years. In 2018, Daniel left his home early in the morning to teach his normal Saturday course. Little did he know, heading into work that day meant walking directly into a trap…when he was confronted with a 9mm Glock 17, held by the last person anyone would expect.
