Episode Description
He just won season 24 of "The Voice" several months ago, the popular talent competition on NBC and now HUNTLEY joins me on the podcast as he prepares to perform on Fort Moore, near me in Georgia, for their Independence Celebration, a free event open to the public on Saturday June 29, which starts at 4pm. He has a lot to say about God and faith, music and his quick path to fame, family history and support for the military! (3:50) You'll hear some of his performance, that he posted on Instagram, of "Open The Eyes of My Heart," a Christian worship song, then (7:06) we get into our conversation. Huntley first talks about his surprising journey onto the voice and winning it, grateful to God for the opportunity! He talks about leaning into GOD during hard times, like when he was homeless for a few months. Huntley also talks about fighting for what you want and having a spiritual awakening while on The Voice. He's excited to play and sing songs for soldiers and the public attending the Independence Celebration on Fort Moore this Saturday, with country star Brett Young performing after him. You may surprised to hear how tragedy struck some of his family members that were in the military and his deep connections to the Army. We close out talking about what kind/genre of music he describes his as...being authentic...the importance of family...and if his long blonde hair is real.
