Episode Description

Reese, Kmac, Pam and Alex discuss the latest in the college basketball transfer portal.

The college basketball transfer is open for the 2026 cycle (April 7 to April 21— just 15 days) and within the first few days it already looks like full-scale free agency and this isn’t just role players transferring anymore, impact starters and stars are entering at a high rate. At the same time, entire rosters are turning over. Programs like TCU and Syracuse already have multiple players leaving, with some teams losing half their roster in a matter of days. This level of movement has become normal in the NIL era, where players can leave for better opportunities, bigger roles, or more lucrative deals.

Coaches are essentially operating like general managers, rapidly rebuilding teams with experienced players rather than relying on freshmen. Schools are also investing heavily, with programs like Houston reportedly working with multi-million-dollar roster budgets to compete for top talent. As a result, experience and proven production have become more valuable than potential, and roster continuity has largely disappeared. Who is staying? Who is leaving? What players are being pursued the most?
