The battle over Utah's congressional maps saw a major turning point yesterday as Map C was chosen by lawmakers to be submitted to a Utah judge for approval. Senator Brady Brammer proposed a partisan test to be applied to maps going forward. In the Utah Legislature's special session yesterday, they passed a bill which will allow the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands to raise the berm in the lake to 4,192 feet if deemed necessary. Yesterday, the Utah Legislature met for a special session to discuss multiple topics, but on finalizing a decision on the map to submit to the Supreme Court judge who forced them to redraw Utah maps. Redrawing Utah: GOP Chair Rob Axson speaks on push for congressional map C

In four days, the legislature will submit a map to the courts to be evaluated for fair redistricting for the state. There has been a lot of back and forth in the process of submitting a map, including the UT GOP now signaling that they are in favor of map "C," and asking for members of the party to comment their support for that map. Utah Democrats are accusing Republicans of inserting politics into the process. Utah Republican State Party Chair Robert Axson joins the show to discuss.
