Utah judge rules Amendment D “void,” still allows it to go on the ballot
In what appears to be an historic decision, a Utah judge has ruled that Amendment D – the ballot question dealing with how citizen initiatives are processed – is “void.” But the question will still appear on the November ballot. The state says it will appeal the decision; county clerks are able to print the ballots in the meantime. How did we get here? And what specific points did the judge make in her ruling? KSL at Night hosts Greg Skordas and Rusty Cannon break it all down for our listeners.

Another government shutdown looms as Congress struggles to pass a funding bill. The big holdup this time? Allocating funding for the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship in order to vote in federal elections. We go into detail on why Speaker Mike Johnson pulled the bill off the House floor and what other hurdles remain before the government runs out of funding.

The KSL at Night hosts share their thoughts and discuss what the candidates have been doing in the last two days.

We take some time to dig into all the details of the lawsuit and the injunction. Carl Szabo, Vice President and General Counsel at NetChoice joins us to give the plaintiff’s point of view. Utah State Representative Jordan Teuscher also joins to share the view of the Legislature, one of the defendants in the case.
