KIRO hosts skeptical of U.S. entering conflict with Iran

Iran launched a missile attack at a U.S. military base in Qatar Monday in retaliation for the American bombing of the country's nuclear sites, The Associated Press (AP) reported. Iran said the attack on Qatar matched the number of bombs dropped by the U.S. Iran also said it targeted the base because it was away from more populated areas, the media outlet stated.

While Qatar successfully intercepted the missiles, KIRO fill-in host Angela Poe Russell questioned if American involvement was necessary in the first place.

"Was this in our best interest at this time?" Angela said on "The Gee and Ursula Show."

Retired four-star General Barry McCaffrey

The death toll has been growing as Israel and Iran have been exchanging missile attacks, according to The Associated Press (AP).

Iran's leader warned that any American military involvement would cause "irreparable damage to them," the media outlet reported. Israeli airstrikes targeted Iran’s capital early Wednesday, a day after President Donald Trump demanded "unconditional surrender," The AP stated.

However, Trump has not been clear if he would strike Iran, telling reporters at the White House Wednesday, "I may do it, I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do," according to The AP.

Retired four-star General Barry McCaffrey told "The Gee and Ursula Show" on KIRO Newsradio he does not believe the U.S. is involved.
