Episode Description

Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of October 3, 2025. It's the Rock like you've never seen him before!  Seriously. You almost don't recognize him in "The Smashing Machine," where he tells part of the true story of MMA fighter Mark Kerr.

As for streaming, there is a movie from director Shane Black, "Play Dirty", starring Mark Wahlberg and Lakeith Stanfield, on Amazon Prime Video. And for the family, you can check out the cute and entertaining "The Sisters Grimm" on Apple TV+. Based on the kids' book series and animated in a throwback style, it's a good scary-lite show for younger kids.

The brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing nerdy, with a goal to publish a weekly "What to Watch on the Weekend" minisode taken from KSL-TV's Friday segment, and two deep-dives a month on shows, creative works, artists, local events, and other fandom topics.
