On this day in 1983, the "The Sally Jessy Raphael Show" premiered and the syndicated tabloid talk show took the country by storm. When the show first aired it covered topics like people with extreme religious beliefs. However, in later shows Sally moved on to more personal family matters such as pregnant or out-of-control teens.
