Episode Description

You finally sit down after a long day…but your mind is still racing.

There’s another thing on the to-do list. Something you forgot. Something you're worried about. Something you feel responsible for fixing. Someone you feel responsible for fixing.

So how do we actually rest?

In this episode of Girl Talk, Carol, Kelly, and Tricia talk about something Jesus never said: “You have to earn your rest.” They get honest about never-ending to-do lists, overthinking, parenting worries, needing a super long nap and the things we sometimes call “rest” that are really just distracting us from our spiritual and emotional health.

Rest goes deeper than getting more sleep or taking a day off. What if the rest Jesus offers is really about surrender and trusting Him? What if we’re not resting because we believe we have more responsibility than we really do?

In Matthew 11, Jesus invited the weary to come to Him, WHILE they were weary, not after they figured it all out. Jesus cam to bring peace WITH God and the peace OF God.

And when we're tempted to pick the weight back up, we can remember: He's God. We're not. And He's already paid the price.
