Episode Recap: Birthdays, Brackets, and Berckmans Place

Opening Shoutout:
We kicked off this week’s episode with a special Happy Birthday to Mike’s beautiful daughter Taylor! ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ€ Segment 1: March Madness Wrap-Up & Ovi Makes History

March Madness may be over, but the buzz is still strong—especially in Gainesville. Huge congrats to the Florida Gators, and hats off to The Hillbilly, who’s been on fire with his takes and predictions. Tricks got the spotlight too, as Mike reviewed his overall March performance—some wins, some... learning moments.

The conversation then turned to the UConn women’s team and a notable viewership drop. Without Caitlin Clark in the mix, ratings reportedly dipped by over 10 million viewers—an eye-opening stat in the world of college hoops.

But the biggest milestone of the week came from the ice:
Alex Ovechkin officially passed Wayne Gretzky’s legendary goal record with his 895th career goal.
It’s a moment that solidifies Ovi’s place in hockey history and reminds us why the NHL is one of the few leagues that still gets tradition and humility right.

All-Time Goal Leaders:

  1. Alex Ovechkin (895)

  2. Wayne Gretzky (894)

  3. Gordie Howe (801)

  4. Jaromir Jagr (766)

  5. Brett Hull (741)

โ›ณ Segment 2: The Masters Preview & Augusta Legends

The azaleas are blooming and the green jackets are ready: it’s Masters Week. Mike broke down the key contenders—Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Jordan Spieth, Brooks Koepka, Cam Smith and more. Or will someone from the field shock the world?

Then it was story time, as Mike shared his unforgettable experiences at Augusta National. One of the highlights? Berckmans Place—a $140 million VIP experience used only 12 days a year. This exclusive hospitality zone includes replicas of the 7th, 14th, and 16th greens, all the food and drink you can handle, and unmatched access for the golf elite.

๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ Final Segment: The Hillbilly Network News

We closed the show with another edition of The Hillbilly Network News

  • The Hammer Chronicles – The legend grows

  • Sands My Paper – You’ll have to tune in to understand

  • And of course, Mike’s signature sign-off to wrap it all up

The Mike Scully Show – Blog Recap 3/27/25

Featuring: Mike Scully, Eliot “The Hebrew Hammer,” Hillbilly, and Trick from South Alabama

Buckle up, sports freaks and freedom lovers — The Mike Scully Show is back with another no-holds-barred, locker-room-meets-living-room roundtable of what’s hot in the world of sports and a few offbeat detours only this crew can deliver.

SEGMENT 1 – NFL Free Agency & Opening Day Fire

The NFL offseason drama just keeps heating up. Russell Wilson inks a 1-year deal with the New York Giants — is this his redemption arc or the final curtain call? Meanwhile, Stefon Diggs cashes in with the Patriots for 3 years, $69 million. One thing's for sure: Belichick’s ghost might be lurking in that contract.

Also on the show’s radar — Xavier Worthy's ex-fiancée going full psycho mode, literally setting $150K in cash on fire. The Hammer called it “relationship arson,” while Trick just shook his head in disbelief.

Oh, and Aaron Rodgers? Still unsigned. Still mysterious. Still weird. But opportunities are vanishing faster than Hillbilly’s beer fridge on a NASCAR Sunday.

The crew also dives into MLB Opening Day, questioning why it feels so early this year. Can anyone stop the mega-loaded Dodgers? Eliot says no — unless Shohei gets abducted by aliens.

And in a chilly twist, the boys tap the ice with a hockey playoff update: Ovechkin is just six goals away from the immortal Gretzky record. Hillbilly’s take? “Let the man eat!”

SEGMENT 2 – March Madness & Coaching Mayhem

March is full-blown madness and Danny Hurley is officially “a cock,” according to Trick — unfiltered as always. Coaching musical chairs continue with Pitino to Xavier, Miller to Texas, and McCollum heading to Iowa.

With the Sweet 16 set, the boys lock in their Elite 8 and Final Four predictions. There are some surprises, some long shots, and, of course, one bracket totally busted by Hillbilly’s belief in Eastern Kentucky State Technical Institute (spoiler: not a real team).

Transfer Portal talk heats up too — Hammer says it’s “college sports free agency on steroids,” while Mike just wants someone to explain NIL money to his Tesla.

FINAL SEGMENT – The Chaos We Call ‘Extras’

โœ… The Hillbilly Network News: A raccoon attack, a tractor pulled over for DUI, and a church bingo scandal. Just another week in Hillbilly’s America.

โœ… The Hammer Chronicles: Eliot rants about the rise of AI referees and how they might be the Antichrist. We don’t disagree.

โœ… Sands My Paper: Trick unloads on grocery store self-checkouts, pineapple on pizza, and daylight saving time. “They all gotta go.”

โœ… Mike’s Tesla Update: After last week’s slam on his smart car, Scully gives a full-throttle rebuttal defending his ride. Verdict: he still can't open the frunk without calling tech support.

๐Ÿงจ Closing Thought: Sports are wild, the world is weirder, and The Mike Scully Show is the only place where a former NFL lineman, a Hebrew Hammer, a wild Hillbilly, and a truth-teller named Trick break it all down with grit, laughs, and plenty of shots fired.

NFL Free Agency Madness, College Hoops, and the Curse of the 17th Hole – This Week on The Mike Scully Show

Brought to you by Jan Pro of Southwest Florida and Coastal Title – the newest sponsors of The Mike Scully Show!

The sports world never sleeps, and neither do we. On this week’s episode, The Mike Scully Show breaks down the NFL Free Agency frenzy, dives deep into the college hoops tournament drama, and talks golf’s most intimidating hole. Plus, we’ve got The Hillbilly News Network, The Hammer Chronicles, and Sands My Paper to cap it all off. Buckle up – it’s a wild ride.

NFL Free Agency: The Dominoes Keep Falling

As if the offseason wasn't already chaotic, teams are making big-time trades and shaking up the league. Some of the most jaw-dropping moves include:

  • DK Metcalf to the Steelers – Pittsburgh gets a serious deep threat. Could this finally unlock their passing game?
  • Sam Darnold to the Seahawks, Geno Smith to the Raiders – It’s a full QB shuffle in Seattle. The Raiders get Geno, but is he the long-term answer?
  • Joey Bosa to the Bills, DeAndre Hopkins to the Ravens – Buffalo bolsters its defense while Lamar Jackson gets another elite weapon in Baltimore.
  • Justin Fields to the Jets, Daniel “Indiana Jones” Jones to the Colts – Fields gets a fresh start in New York, while the Colts make a gamble on Daniel Jones.
  • Houston trades Laremy Tunsil to Washington, Eagles’ Kenneth Gainwell to the Steelers, Najee Harris to the Chargers – Some major pieces are moving, and the Steelers are stacking up talent.
  • Davante Adams to the Rams – LA just made a massive power move by snagging one of the best receivers in the game.
  • Still out there: Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Cooper Kupp – Who lands where? The offseason drama is far from over.

March Madness Is Here – Who’s In, Who’s Out?

College basketball fans, this is our time of year. The tournament is just around the corner, and bubble teams are sweating it out.

๐Ÿšจ Teams on the edge:

  • Texas vs. Vanderbilt – Can the Longhorns hold on?
  • Georgia vs. Oklahoma – Both teams need a statement win.
  • Ohio State vs. Iowa – The Big Ten battle rages on.
  • Arkansas vs. South Carolina – SEC showdown with tournament hopes on the line.

๐Ÿ† Player of the Year Race:

  • Cooper Flagg (19.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 4.2 APG) – The kid is lighting it up and making a serious case for the award.
  • Johni Broome (18.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 3.3 APG) – A dominant force down low who keeps Auburn rolling.

One of these guys is about to etch his name in history.

The Players Championship – A Three-Peat and Tiger’s Setback

๐ŸŒ๏ธ‍โ™‚๏ธ Scottie Scheffler is going for three in a row at TPC Sawgrass, but the bigger story is Tiger Woods. The golf legend ruptured his Achilles, a brutal injury that could sideline him for a long time. Is this finally the moment he steps away from the game for good?

And let’s talk about the infamous Par 3 17th hole – that 132-yard island green that eats golf balls for breakfast. What would you hit from that distance? The guys break it down and give their takes on the most stressful tee shot in the sport.

Final Thoughts: The Hillbilly News Network, The Hammer Chronicles & Sands My Paper

As always, we wrap things up Scully-style. This week, The Hillbilly News Network delivers the latest unfiltered takes, The Hammer Chronicles go off the rails, and Sands My Paper makes sure somebody gets put on blast.

Yet again, politics and sports collide as the Philadelphia Eagles reportedly turned down an invitation to the White House. Why? Love him or hate him, Trump delivered a fiery State of the Union. We’ll break down the key moments, including a powerful mic-drop moment that had everyone talking. Where’s the Civility? The Hammer Chronicles – Eliot has something to say, and it’s never boring. Sands MY Paper – Trick keeps it real with his closing thoughts. The Mike Scully Show – February 27, 2025

Hosted by Mike Scully, with his rowdy band of co-hosts: The Hebrew Hammer Eliot, Trick from South Alabama, and Hillbilly from West Virginia. Strap in—this week’s show is loaded with gridiron gossip, college chaos, and some good ol’ fashioned sports debates.

Segment 1: NFL Scouting Combine – The Meat Market is Open

It’s that time of year again when NFL coaches, GMs, and agents descend on Indianapolis like vultures on a fresh roadkill. The Scouting Combine is in full swing, and we’ve got a parade of college kids trying to prove they can run, jump, and bench press their way into a fat contract.

  • Shedeur Sanders is keeping his cleats clean—he’s not working out. Maybe he figures he's already got enough game tape to impress, or maybe he just didn’t want to risk pulling a hammy before cashing in.
  • Travis Hunter is doing defensive drills only. Smart move? Or should he flex his WR skills too?
  • Cam Ward—what’s his deal? Is he a first-rounder, or is he about to take a freefall like a stock after a bad earnings report?

Meanwhile, drama is bubbling over in the NFL like a pot of day-old chili:

  • Jets players are pissed about Aaron Rodgers ghosting them. Quinnen Williams is especially salty. Maybe they should’ve seen this coming—Rodgers disappearing isn’t exactly new.
  • The Franchise Tag Window is open until March 4th, meaning teams have about a week to decide who’s getting locked in like an ex who won’t take the hint.
  • Free Agency starts March 10th—who’s cashing out? Rumors are flying that the Colts may have an open QB competition. Also, is Anthony Richardson in hot water?
  • Cleveland’s GM just laughed in everyone’s face when asked about a Myles Garrett trade. That man isn’t going anywhere.
  • The Philadelphia Eagles are making headlines for two reasons:
    1. At least one player is saying "no thanks" to a White House visit.
    2. The NFL is considering banning the "Tush Push." Yep, the league is tired of Philly basically running a rugby scrum on every third-and-one.

This segment is brought to you by Jan-Pro SWFL – Frank Papasodero. If you need your office cleaned up as well as the Jets need their locker room drama cleaned out, call Frank.

Segment 2: College Football Playoff & March Madness – The Playoff Drama Never Ends

The College Football Playoff Committee is meeting up to discuss some big changes, and, just like your uncle arguing politics at Thanksgiving, things are getting heated.

  • The big idea? Instead of giving byes to the top-ranked conference champs, they might just go with the top four teams, period. Translation: If your conference is weak, tough luck.
  • The 2026 playoff structure is starting to take shape, and surprise, surprise—it’s leaning toward a 14-team format that heavily favors the SEC and Big Ten. Shocker.

Meanwhile, college basketball is gearing up for the madness:

  • Selection Sunday is creeping up (March 16), and the tournament picture is clearing up like a windshield after a fresh Rain-X coat.
  • 30 teams are locked in, nine teams are sitting pretty, and 22 teams are in the danger zone, praying they don’t choke in these final weeks.
  • Notable teams boosting their résumés this week: Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Cincinnati, and San Diego State are all stacking up wins like a college kid stacks overdue bills.

๐Ÿ”น Must-Watch Games This Week

  • #1 Auburn vs. #17 Kentucky – The Tigers are rolling, but can Kentucky play spoiler?
  • #10 Texas Tech @ Kansas – It’s always a fight when these two meet.
  • #22 Arizona @ #9 Iowa State – Can Arizona make a late push?
  • West Virginia @ #25 BYU – A must-win for both teams.
  • #12 Texas A&M @ #3 Florida – The Gators are hungry for a top seed.

It’s a packed show, so grab a beer, settle in, and let The Mike Scully Show break it all down for you. No fluff, no nonsense—just straight sports talk with a side of trash talk.

The Mike Scully Show – Episode Recap – February 20th, 2025

BROUGHT TO YOU BY JAN PRO CLEANING SERVICES

This week's episode of The Mike Scully Show brought listeners another hard-hitting roundup of sports, debates, and laughs. Mike, along with co-hosts "The Hebrew Hammer" Eliot, "Trick" from South Alabama, and "Hillbilly" from West Virginia, dove deep into some hot topics in the sports world.

Segment 1: NFL Season Review & Off-Season Buzz

The show kicked off with a look back at the incredible growth of sports betting in the NFL. According to the American Gaming Association's latest report, sports betting on NFL games generated a record $13.71 billion in revenue in 2024, up significantly from $11.04 billion in 2023. Legal sportsbooks handled nearly $150 billion in bets—a staggering 22.2% increase from the previous year. Despite public favorites dominating the season, sportsbooks still managed a solid 9.3% hold rate. Q4 2024 was the most lucrative quarter in history, pulling in $3.66 billion.

The crew then tackled the big off-season stories, discussing the NFL’s salary cap increase, set to range between $277.5 and $281.5 million for 2025. Negotiations with the NFL Players Association will finalize the number soon.

Controversy swirled around Myles Garrett, who's asking for a trade, sparking heated debate on where he might land. Aaron Rodgers' future was also hotly debated, with speculation swirling around retirement or potential moves to the Steelers or Raiders. Matthew Stafford’s future was another discussion point—will he be traded or re-signed?

Tee Higgins’ contract situation kept the conversation lively, and then, of course, came the segment titled "NFL Stupidity," featuring Jameis Williams of the Lions and an inexplicable gaffe by Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, leaving everyone baffled and amused.

Segment 2: Hockey Surpasses NBA, College Basketball, and Baseball’s Back

The guys celebrated the NHL's huge win over the NBA during All-Star weekend. The 4 Nations Hockey Championship matchup—USA vs. Canada in Boston—garnered more viewers than any hockey game since the 2014 Stanley Cup, overshadowing the NBA’s lackluster All-Star event. The intense game featured three fights within just nine seconds, notably involving the Tkachuck brothers, bringing old-school hockey excitement back.

The show then shifted to college basketball, highlighting the SEC's dominance with nine men's teams and seven women's teams in the top 25. There were shoutouts to Auburn, Florida, Duke, and Houston, with an eyebrow-raising question: "Where has Kansas gone?" after they got demolished by BYU by over 30 points.

Mike humorously lamented a mistake from his alma mater, Illinois, which botched Terrence Shannon Jr.'s banner unveiling by hanging it upside down. The Illini quickly turned the gaffe into goodwill, selling humorous T-shirts and donating proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club.

In women's hoops, the guys discussed UConn’s stunning upset over South Carolina, breaking their 71-game home winning streak.

As pitchers and catchers reported for MLB Spring Training, the crew discussed the massive economic impact on Southwest Florida and Arizona, excitedly anticipating the return of baseball with the Grapefruit and Cactus leagues.

Segment 3: Chronicles, News, and Gripes

In the lighter final segment, fans enjoyed "The Hebrew Hammer Chronicles," featuring Eliot’s unique takes, while "Hillbilly News Network" brought laughs with offbeat stories. "What Sands my Paper" closed things out with humorous rants, before Mike wrapped up another memorable episode.

Stay tuned next week for more insights, entertainment, and strong opinions—only on The Mike Scully Show.

The Mike Scully Show Recap February 13th Edition

This week on The Mike Scully Show, Mike, Sean "The Hillbilly" from West Virginia, and Eliot "The Hebrew Hammer" held it down while Trick from South Alabama was sidelined with an illness. We are sending our best to Trick, he took the day off like a star quarterback resting before the playoffs. Meanwhile, Eliot showed up under the weather and took one for the team, grinding through like an ironman athlete who refuses to sit out. Respect.

Super Bowl LIX Recap: Georgia's Defense Crushes Mahomes

Super Bowl LIX is in the books, and it was a defensive masterclass by the Eagles, who dominated the line of scrimmage and made Patrick Mahomes look human. With their relentless four-man pass rush loaded with former University of Georgia standouts the Eagles shut down the Chiefs offense. Jalen Hurts proved why he deserved the MVP trophy, making timely throws and using his legs when necessary. While many expected Saquon Barkley to be a major factor, the Eagles didn't need him to take over the game.

Meanwhile, Nevada sportsbooks cleaned up, raking in a record $22.1 million in net winnings, shattering the previous record set during the Seahawks beatdown of the Broncos. However, the $151.6 million wagered was the lowest handle for a Super Bowl since the COVID-era matchup between the Bucs and Chiefs.

NFL News: Coaching Moves, Rodgers Future, and Cam's Blunder

The Saints made a splash by poaching offensive coordinator Kellen Moore from the Eagles. With New Orleans looking to revamp their offensive attack, Moore play-calling could be a game-changer.

The Aaron Rodgers saga continues his time with the Jets appears to be over, but where will he land if he decides to play in 2025? Speculation is already swirling, with teams like the Raiders and Steelers rumored as potential destinations.

The halftime show always gets people talking, and this year was no different. Some loved it, some hated it either way, it had everyone debating.

Tom Brady flexed his GOAT status in retirement by rocking an $800,000 watch at the Super Bowl. Because, why not?

Meanwhile, Cam Newton found himself in hot water after calling his former teammates losers. The always-outspoken Steve Smith Sr. didn't hold back, firing back at Cam and calling him out for his words. The drama never stops in the NFL.

College Basketball: Who's Number One?

With March Madness fast approaching, the battle for the No. 1 seed is heating up. Florida knocked off Auburn, shaking up the SEC standings, and Alabama vs. Auburn this weekend is set to be a must-watch showdown.

Kansas and UNC two powerhouse programs have been struggling. The question is: can they turn things around in time for the tournament? Meanwhile, the SEC could have as many as 11 teams dancing in March, which would be a historic feat.

The betting action is ramping up, and Duke & Duke Bets are all over the Alabama vs. Auburn matchup.

PGA Tour: Tiger's Loss and a Rising Star

The golf world is mourning the passing of Kutilda Woods, Tigers mother, a devastating loss for one of the sports all-time greats. In the wake of her passing, Tiger has withdrawn from the Genesis Invitational, which has been relocated from Riviera to Torrey Pines South Course in San Diego due to the destructive Los Angeles fires.

On the course, Thomas Detry claimed victory at the Waste Management Open. The Belgian golfer continues the legacy of Mike Small's golf program at the University of Illinois, producing another elite tour player.

Final Segment: The Hillbilly Network News & The Hammer Chronicles

Closing out the show, The Hillbilly Network News was in full effect, with Sean "The Hillbilly" from West Virginia dropping his signature down-home take on the week's biggest stories Take Me Home, Country Roads style. Meanwhile, The Hammer Chronicles kept things lively with Eliot's unfiltered takes. It sands our paper we missed Trick, but get well soon my brother!

As always, Mike signed off in style, wrapping up another action-packed episode of The Mike Scully Show. Tune in next week for more hot takes, insider analysis, and unfiltered sports talk!

In a special guest appearance, Sloth from The Goonies made a surprise visit to the show to break down one of the hottest topics in college sports right now—the transfer portal. Who better than a Goonie to talk about navigating unexpected twists and turns?

Meanwhile, C Nic, aka Yoda with the Knowledge, dropped his usual gems of wisdom, ensuring the crew stayed grounded as they tackled the big topics. And of course, The Hebrew Hammer Elliot brought the heat, lighting up both the picks and the menorah. His holiday energy and sharp insights were nothing short of electric.

College football bowl picks: The team laid out their thoughts on the biggest matchups in the bowl season, calling out potential upsets and locks.

Reality Check EP 17

This week's episode of The Reality Check Podcast had a few curveballs thrown at the lineup. We’re sending our thoughts and prayers to J Nic, who’s currently in the hospital – get well soon, brother! Meanwhile, C Nic was out spending time with his little bro, and Shooter was off doing what he does best – shooting. That left the spotlight on a dynamic trio: the Center of Attention Mike Scully, The Hebrew Hammer Elliot, and Trick from South Alabama.

The conversation this week was nothing short of electrifying, with sports dominating the agenda and just the right sprinkle of politics to keep things spicy. The crew didn’t hold back with their takes on this weekend’s college football games, diving into the biggest matchups and controversies. A major talking point was the buzz around Bill Belichick potentially coaching at North Carolina. Is it the shake-up college football needs?

The guys also weighed in on the controversial NIL deals, which they believe are steering the college game into uncharted territory. Switching gears to the NFL, it’s that time of the season when pretenders get exposed, and contenders start to shine.

The podcast’s trio gave their insights on which teams have what it takes to dominate in the postseason and which ones need to pack it up and call it a year.

This Week on The Reality Check: The Hebrew Hammer Returns, Rivalry Week Drama, and Championship Saturday Predictions

It was a packed episode this week on The Reality Check, and boy, did we have a show for you! Hosted by the always-entertaining Mike Scully, the crew welcomed back a fan favorite—The Hebrew Hammer, Elliot—who brought his signature energy and some rock-solid picks to the table.

The episode kicked off with a dive into the hot waters of politics. As you’d expect, it quickly turned into a heated debate, so the crew did what they do best—pivoted to sports! Because if there’s one thing that can unify the boys, it’s the thrill of the game.

Adding some extra spice to the mix, Trick joined us live from The Casino in Milwaukee. Amidst the buzz of slot machines and roulette wheels, Trick still found time to give us his unfiltered takes on the week’s biggest matchups.

The Highlights:

  • Rivalry Week Breakdown: The guys didn’t shy away from dissecting the fight that went viral during Rivalry Week in college football. The stakes were high, and so were the tempers! The team debated whether emotions ran too hot or if it was just another chapter in college football history.

  • Championship Saturday Predictions: With the college football season reaching its climax, the crew laid down their predictions for Championship Saturday. Will the favorites prevail, or are we in for some shocking upsets? The guys laid their bets, and as always, Elliot brought the heat with his analytical insight.

  • Final Thoughts from C Nic and J Nic: Wrapping things up, the Nic brothers dropped some serious knowledge during Final Thoughts. From life lessons to bold predictions, they left listeners with plenty to think about before the weekend’s games.

The Reality Check Podcast: Hot Takes, Sleepy Takes, and Tricks of the Trade This week on The Reality Check Podcast, the lineup brought a slight twist as C Nic aka Yoda hit the road with his family, leaving his mic to the fiery takes of special guest host Elliot the Terrapin Gator. True to form, Elliot brought the heat and more than a few scorching opinions to the table, keeping the rest of the crew on their toes. Meanwhile, J Nic started the show a bit on the sleepy side, but just like a game-winning drive, he rallied strong in the final stretch. As always, Scully took charge like the true ringleader he is. A Fighting Illini alum and former NFL long snapper, Scully has a knack for keeping the conversation sharp, steering the ship with questions and topics as precise as his snaps back in the day. This week's episode was a knockout—literally—as the boyz dove deep into the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight. They broke down the spectacle and what it means for boxing’s new-age vs. old-school clash. They didn’t stop there, taking it to the octagon to discuss the explosive world of UFC, featuring appearances from Trump, Elon Musk, and Jon Jones. If you thought the fights were spicy, just wait until you hear the takes. Of course, The Reality Check wouldn’t be complete without Trick’s Picks, the golden locks of the sports world. Trick made his college and NFL predictions with his trademark confidence, sprinkling in his signature segment, “What Sands My Paper,” to let us know what’s been grinding his gears lately. Spoiler: he didn’t hold back. Rounding things out, Shooter kept us entertained with This Day in Sports History, serving up some surprising and laugh-out-loud moments from the past. It’s a fan-favorite segment for a reason, and Shooter once again nailed the delivery. Whether you're here for the hot takes, the locks of the week, or just the hilarious banter, this episode of The Reality Check Podcast delivered in every way. The Reality Check : Prez 47, Picks, and Nickname Shenanigans This week on The Reality Check Podcast, the crew dives deep into the latest moves from Prez 47 himself, Donald J. Trump. With whispers of cabinet picks and all the juicy drama of a second Trump term, the boys have a few opinions of their own on who might snag a seat at the table (and who definitely shouldn’t). Will Trump’s lineup be a mix of Washington vets, or are we talking the wild cards only Reality Check could predict? On to the gridiron! Mike Scully, J Nic from Free Shoes University, Trick from Southern Alabama, and the ever-wise C Nic aka Yoda bring their A-game for the week's College and NFL Picks. Shooter keeps it steady behind the board, but his allegiance? We’ll let you find that out. The big questions this week: Can the Chiefs keep the streak alive, and will the Packers keep reminding the Bears why Chicago can’t catch a break? And don’t even get us started on Tennessee vs. Georgia—it’s SEC showdown time, baby. For the fantasy football heads, the crew’s throwing out some sleeper picks bound to stir up the league! Now, if football’s your sport but nicknames are your jam, buckle up. It’s nickname game time, and things got... interesting. J Nic and Shooter dished out new monikers for each other, and let's just say these names might not be Hall of Fame material. In fact, these nicknames might just set off a feud we’ll be following for a while! And if that wasn’t enough, J Nic came in hot this week, getting a bit confrontational with Trick. Who won this war of words? Tune in to hear it straight from the source. Of course, we’re serving it all with slices of 3 City Pizza, straight outta Cape Coral, Florida. Massive shoutout to our sponsors—Coastal Title Company and Coastal Waterfront Rentals with Peter—keeping us in business and keeping your waterfront dreams alive. Whether you’re in for the sports hot takes, the Trump talk, or just here for the nickname game, don’t miss this week’s Reality Check. Reality Check Recap: The Election Special and Football Fire! This week on The Reality Check Podcast, our all-star team of hosts took on a spicy episode, blending politics, football, and classic Reality Check antics. Mike Scully, as always, calls the plays in the huddle, steering the conversation with his signature smooth style. In a surprising political twist, the crew celebrated Trump’s big election win, hopeful that he’ll deliver on his promises. Now, while the podcast usually strays from heavy political talk, this time they couldn’t hold back – after all, there’s a lot on the line! As for football, let’s just say… J Nic’s picks have been an absolute disaster. If he had a dollar for every wrong prediction, he’d be buying waterfront property and using Coastal Title every month! With a record that looks like he’s picking out of a hat, J Nic has earned himself some serious roasting. Meanwhile, Trick continues to bring the heat, laying down picks with military precision. The man’s got his NFL and college football insights down pat, and if we’re being honest, he’s probably carrying the show’s betting cred on his back. But no one is running hotter than Yoda, whose wisdom and uncanny ability to call the game make him the true MVP. Yoda’s knowledge is so vast, you’d think he’s got some kind of secret hotline to the football gods. If you’re putting your money down, take it from Yoda—he’s got the foresight of a Jedi Master and isn’t afraid to let the crew know it! The crew didn’t just stop at picks this week—they dove into Fantasy Football insights, dishing out recommendations that will make or break your lineup. Brought to you by 3 City Pizza, Coastal Title, and Coastal Vacation Properties, this episode is the perfect blend of laughs, predictions, and a little political edge. So, grab a slice, tune in, and catch Mike, Trick, Yoda, Shooter, and (if you dare) J Nic, as they bring you the week’s biggest insights, Reality Check style

Pete Rose: The Hit King Forever

Pete Rose, the all-time hit king, deserves his roses. With a career spanning decades, his contribution to baseball is unmatched. We remember the greatness of Pete Rose—his passion for the game, and the way he redefined what it meant to hustle. Sure, controversy followed him, but no one can deny the record he left behind.

Remembering Dikembe Mutombo

Praising Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark continues to take women’s basketball to new heights. Her ability to score from anywhere on the court has left fans and opponents in awe. We tip our hats to one of the brightest stars in sports today.

Reality Check Podcast Blog: Hurricane Helene, Caitlyn Clark, and the Bleep Heard ‘Round the World

Welcome back to The Reality Check Podcast, where the only thing fiercer than our takes is Hurricane Helene—which just so happened to roll through while we were recording this latest episode. While Helene left its mark on the outside world, the real damage this week was done to Trick’s ego, courtesy of Shooter, who had to bleep out Trick’s colorful language more times than we care to count. The irony? No one will ever know just how filthy Trick really is (thanks to the power of bleep technology).

This week’s episode covers the wide world of sports, but we kicked things off with a conversation about Caitlyn Clark’s stellar season coming to an end. The Iowa basketball phenom might be hanging up her jersey for now, but we’re already talking about what’s next for her career.

Then it was time for some Fantasy Football Fever. We broke down who’s hot and who’s not in fantasy leagues this season, and let’s just say, if you haven’t been following along with our tips, you’re probably regretting it by now. Trick’s Picks continue to be pure gold—he’s cashing in week after week with spot-on predictions. His Southern charm might not translate to keeping his language clean, but when it comes to football, the man knows his stuff.

We closed the show with a history lesson, courtesy of Shooter. Who knew the guy behind the board could drop such wisdom? Shooter’s history facts and deep dives always bring a fresh perspective, reminding us that there's more to life (and sports) than the present moment.

So, if you’re looking for a podcast that can survive hurricanes, bleep out bad language, and still deliver top-tier sports insights, The Reality Check Podcast has you covered. Presented by 3 City Pizza in Cape Coral, Florida, we bring the heat—whether it’s from the oven or the airwaves. Catch the latest episode now, and as always, keep it real with The Reality Check.

J Nick brings the Free Shoes U perspective, Trick lays it down with that Alabama swagger, and Yoda drops knowledge bombs that keep you thinking. It’s football talk at its best, with a side of humor and heated debates.

Stern Talk and Shooter’s Soundtrack

The Reality Check Podcast: Vegas Vibes, Football Fever, and Trick’s Picks!

This week, the boys from The Reality Check Podcast are getting hyped up for a trip to Vegas, baby! Hosted by Mike Scully with his trusty crew—J Nic, Trick with the picks, C Nic with Knowledge, and Shooter behind the controls—the energy is off the charts as they talk sports, plan their inevitable showdown with Lady Luck in Sin City, and welcome a very special guest: Hogan Hatten, long snapper for the Detroit Lions!

Hogan Hatten: From Undrafted to the Lions' Roster

Hogan Hatten, the Detroit Lions' long snapper, joins the show and shares his story of going from undrafted free agent to earning a spot on an NFL roster. Hogan gives us an inside look at the grind and the gut checks.. Ever wonder what it’s like to not hear your name called on draft day but still make your dream come true? Hogan’s got you covered.

Trick’s Picks: Betting Hotter Than the Vegas Strip

Trick is back with his famous Trick’s Picks, and this week, he’s coming in hotter than the Vegas sun. He’s been on a heater, calling winners left and right like he’s got a crystal ball (or maybe just some solid insider info). If you're placing bets on college or NFL this week, don’t miss Trick's golden predictions. He's been so good, even the sportsbooks are sweating.

Football Breakdown: College, NFL, and Everything in Between

Of course, the guys dive deep into football, breaking down everything from the latest college matchups to NFL headlines. Whether it’s Colorado's wild start under Coach Prime, or who’s going to step up in the NFC East, these guys know their football—and aren't shy about letting everyone know. But don’t let the analysis fool you, this crew loves to have fun. There’s more trash talk in this episode than an Eagles-Cowboys game, and somehow, it always circles back to Trick’s unhealthy obsession with the Bond girls.

Headlines From Around the Sports World

There’s a lot going on outside of the gridiron too. In this week’s headlines, Shohei Ohtani’s elbow takes another hit, and the future of the MLB’s best two-way player is as cloudy as ever. Also, Serena Williams hints at a potential return, and the world of women’s tennis is collectively losing its mind. The boys give their take on these stories and somehow manage to work in jokes about Vegas buffets, questionable blackjack strategies, and who’s going to be the first to lose all their money at the slot machines.

Big Shout Out to Our Sponsors!

We couldn’t do it without the support of our awesome sponsors! Big thanks to 3 City Pizza in Cape Coral, where the pizza is so good, even Trick will forget about his Bond girls for a minute. And shoutout to Coastal Title, the best in the business when it comes to making sure your real estate deals don’t fumble like a rookie quarterback under pressure.

It’s going to be another unforgettable episode filled with football talk, Vegas vibes, and Trick’s never-ending quest to prove he's got the best picks in the game. Tune in, grab a slice of pizza, and get ready for some laughs, because when this crew is on, there’s no telling what’ll happen!

The Reality Check Podcast Kicks Off the Football Season!

Welcome back to another week of The Reality Check Podcast—the show where sports takes are fresh, the banter is wild, and the pizza is hot, courtesy of our amazing sponsor, 3 City Pizza!

This week, Mike Scully is steering the ship with the usual crew: J Nic repping Seminole Country, Trick with the picks, C Nic dropping knowledge bombs, and Shooter manning the controls like a pro. The guys are diving headfirst into the start of football season, and if you're not hyped yet, just wait until you hear what went down this episode.

NFL and College Football: Who’s Got the Edge?

Trick, aka the human sports almanac, is on fire with his NFL and college football picks this week. He’s dropping gems like a magician, and as always, he has some strong feelings about Deion Sanders and the Colorado squad. The boys are breaking down the matchup against Nebraska and, let’s be honest, no one's more stoked than Scully to see the Cornhuskers get their shot at Coach Prime.

Meanwhile, J Nic can’t let it slide without reminding everyone that his beloved Seminoles are gonna start to make some noise this season, even though Trick keeps throwing shade like he’s playing defense.

Trick’s "Passion" for Women’s Basketball… or Lack Thereof

And then there’s the women’s basketball segment—well, kinda. Trick doesn't really care for the game. In fact, he’s more interested in reminiscing about the women from James Bond movies. You can’t make this up! While C Nic tries to highlight some key players and Shooter is laughing too hard to breathe, Trick just keeps talking about Goldfinger. Priorities, right?

Why You Should Tune In

If you’re looking for serious sports talk with a side of nonsense, you won’t find a better crew than this. The Reality Check Podcast is all about football, ridiculous hot takes, and of course, a good laugh at Trick’s latest obsession with Bond girls. The Reality Check Podcast: Kicking Off Football Season with a Bang!

This week on The Reality Check Podcast, the boys are back and ready to dive headfirst into the world of sports! Our fearless leader, Mike Scully, is joined by the usual suspects—J Nick, Shooter, Yoda, and Trick—for an episode packed with laughter, sports talk, and a whole lot of friendly banter.

First up, J Nick has returned from his Irish adventure, where he unfortunately had to witness his beloved FSU Seminoles take a tough loss against Georgia Tech. The pain is real, folks, but Trick didn’t miss the opportunity to rub a little salt in the wound, reminding everyone that The Gators are, without a doubt, superior to those Seminoles. Ouch!

The guys didn’t stop at football, though. They delved into some golf talk, discussing the FedEx Cup and the latest in the PGA world. Shooter was behind the board, though he was moving a bit slower than usual after a late night of drinking. No one does dedication quite like Shooter, even if it means limping through the episode.

Yoda, as always, brought his wisdom and insight to the table, and Trick came in hot with his college football picks against the spread. And just when you thought the action couldn’t get any better, all the guys made their picks for the opening week of football season. The excitement is real, and the stakes are high!

We want to thank everyone for tuning in and joining us on this wild ride. Don’t forget to subscribe to The Reality Check Podcast on YouTube, rate us on Spotify, and download on Apple Podcasts. The Reality Check Podcast: Boys, Sports, and Bragging Rights

Welcome back to The Reality Check Podcast, where the opinions are loud, the drinks are cold, and the sports talk never stops! Hosted by the one and only Mike Scully, this week’s episode is a wild ride as the boys dive deep into everything from the final moments of the Olympics in Paris to the kickoff of the college football season. And let’s not forget those last-minute NFL over/under picks that everyone’s been waiting for.

This week, Scully is joined by a special guest this week: Chief Osceola's top guy Mark King, aka "The Kinger," Scully’s loyal drinking buddy Trick, and the wise sage Yoda, who’s always dropping some serious sports knowledge. Behind the board, Shooter makes sure the sound is crisp, the conversation stays on track (mostly), and that no one gets away with too many ridiculous takes.

What’s Cooking This Week:

  • The Paris Olympics Recap: The torch is out, and the boys are giving their takes on the best moments, the most shocking upsets, and how Team USA stacked up against the world.

  • College Football Fever: With the season just days away, the crew breaks down their predictions, big matchups to watch, and why this year’s kickoff feels extra electric.
