Case Study: Ocean's 8 vs. Ocean's 11-13! How Hollywood FAILS It's FEMALE Protagonists!

On this episode of Coolest Alive, A Case Study: Ocean's 8 vs. Ocean's 11-13! (Breaking Down How Hollywood FAILS Its FEMALE Protagonists!) Host Jesse Blaze Snider finished an "Ocean's" marathon, watching Ocean's 11, 12, and 13, and finishing with the gender-swapped kinda-sorta-sequel Ocean's 8, and came away feeling like he was finally ready to more deeply explain and expound on what Hollywood is doing wrong with its female protagonists. Join us for a very feminist episode, as Jesse brings receipts attempting to explain why the audience isn't responding as well to films like Ocean's 8 where the women take center stage, while pointing out how easily this could have been improved and how they should approach these things in the future to help them succeed and truly make them the equal to the boy versions of such things.
