This week, a very special show with a special guest. For anyone who listened to BJ and Bill in their original environment, back in SW Florida at Oldies 95 FM radio, we're sure you'll know our guest... it's Stan, from the Stan and Haney Show!

For those who don't remember, the Stan and Haney Show was on opposite BJ and Bill during what's called "morning drive time." It's the most important, biggest money-making time slot of the day for any broadcast radio station. The competition between the two shows - BJ and Bill and Stan and Haney - was always fierce.

Yeet here's the cool part. It's all - as they say - "show business." There was a lot of mutual respect between thte two morning programs, even as they fought it out on the air for listeners.

It sounds like something from a bad old TV sitcom, but it’s this weeks up-to-the-minute show: BJ and Bill, mostly complaining about the “joys“ of getting old.

For Bill, it’s a trip to the eye doctor and a possible surgical procedure coming up. For BJ it’s an update on his sleep doctor Status.

Face it, it sucks to get old, and the boys have a front row seat to all of it this week.

In addition, however, there is some fun and interesting stuff on sports, including the Masters golf tournament, and the upcoming NBA playoffs.

This week, Bill gives the details on his big move ... all the way across town in Gainesville! Yeah, not a big deal, but it's a new chapter of life, and a little bit of excitement regardless.

As for BJ, there's also some home changes... more like remodeling or uipgrading his current digs. Sadly, there's also some talk about the loss of another former radio personality from SW Florida. Seems like it's getting to be a regular story for BJ and Bill ... not just losing people from old "radio days," but family and friends from all walks of life.

It's been a while since we've had a "medical show," of the podcast, no? Well, there's no more need to wait, BJ has (yet another), new fun story of his ongoing medical treatment "journey." Yikes... two old men talking about getting old... again! Funny, but true: As we all get "up there" in age, isn't that the main topic of conversation, just about everywhere? Well, this week the boys have some of that, but thankfully, it's not the entire show. How fun woudl that be?

There's some sport talk, too, but a lot of it has to do with cable TV and how to get the best sports channels without paying too. Much. It's almost time for Bill's streaming-TV "summer break," where he puts his expensive streaming service on hold, at least until football season starts up again in the fall.

After all, summer is coming, and there should be better things to do that just watch TV, right? Righs??! Let's hope so...

Football season is over... but NASCAR season is revving up! And while this isn't a sport-related podcast, BJ and Bill are big sports fans. Well, BJ is definitely the NASCAR guy, so there's some talk of that, for sure.

In addition, there's talk of an "experience" that was very popular "back in the day" of BJ and Bill's work on the radio in SW Florida. Some really big news on the podcast this week, and we're not talking about football! Well, there's some football chatter later in the show, but this is someting completely different. BJ has finally - after years of prodding by his family and his old partner Bill Stevenes - finallly found himself someone who is going to help him write his life story down in a real, live, available-on-Amazon book. 

Of course it's just now in the planning and negotiation stages, but that's a big development, for sure! Can't wait to see and read the finished product. We'll keep you updated. 

And yes, there's some football talk on the shwo as well. Only the "big game" is left to play, in two weeks, between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Should be fun, to see KC going for the "three-peat."

So much to talk about this week! As this podcast was being recorded, the US was getting a new / old / recycled President. So there's some talk on politics, even though both the boys are not strongly connected to any particular ideology. God bless us all...

Football season is over! At least it is for BJ, who (along with Bill) had the unhappy experience of watching their beloved Tampa Bay Bucaneers lose in the NFL Wild Card Playoff games. Oh well, as BJ said, "time to wash the jerseys and put them away for another season." Yes, he really did NOT wash his Bucs jersey, to try to keep the "luck" of winning going. Not so much, apparently.

Other goodies from the show: The fun and excitement- and difficulty - of standing before a big, live audience. BJ and Bill have had their own fun-times with that, and there's a few good stories to be had.

Well, the regular season of the NFL came to a close the weekend just before this show was recorded, so the boys have plenty of football to talk about. Most interesting, the way BJ had to make sure his wife was helping out, doing the "ritual" of wearing the same team jersey, sitting in the same spot on the couch, etc... all to make sure our favorite Tampa Bay Bucs were winners. Yeah, it's a bit of magic, but if it works, all the better! 

More interesting BJ and Bill history. What "might" have happened if BJ and Bill had continued working at the same radio station in Fort Myers. Would they still be there? It was a good football week for the boys... Tampa Bay won, and the Browns played (and won!) a super-cool game in the big-time snow right there in Cleveland. Well, that was exciting for Bill, anyway. 

Along with the sports-talk, there was more about electric cars, and how they work for some people (BJ) and not so much for others (Bill, although he's open to change)... We had to find the answer to the important road-trip question Does our favorite rest stop, Buc-ee's - have EV charging? The good news is that most Buc-ee's do indeed have electric chargers! Good to know for those road trips through the south.
