Country music stars remember Loretta Lynn on Coffee, Country & Cody

Country music icon Loretta Lynn died at age 90 on October 4, 2022. She was the first woman to win Entertainer of the Year awards from both the CMA & ACM, won three Grammy Awards, and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2013. She had been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1962. She recorded 54 studio albums over her 60+ year career.

The day after her passing, several stars of country music joined Coffee, Country & Cody to tell stories of how Loretta's extraordinary life and career impacted each of them.

WSM Radio made its mark on country music history on October 5, 1925. It was on that day that the station hit the airwaves. On November 28 of that same year, the station birthed the WSM Barn Dance, soon renamed the Grand Ole Opry, which remains the world's longest-running radio show. Since its very beginning, WSM has (and continues to) broadcast every Opry show live, along with a daily programming lineup of talented hosts presenting classic and contemporary country music.
