Episode Description

Maj. Gen. Stephen F. Logan took the helm of the State of Hawaii’s Department of Defense on Oct. 1, 2024.

In his role as adjutant general, Maj. Gen. Logan leads a combined force of 5,300 Army and Air National Guard soldiers and airmen, and ensures that the Hawaii Guard is properly trained to meet its state and federal mission.

On the state side, he said Guard personnel were activated in response to help due to the severe weather Hawaii experienced over the weekend.

On the federal side, he shared the Hawaii Guard could also be activated by the president of the United States, and there is a “very remote possibility” that what happened in Minnesota could also occur in Hawaii with the National Guard assisting local police with immigration enforcement.
