Hurricanes.com reporter Walt Ruff joined Paul Ihander & Graham Hill to recap the Carolina Hurricanes free agency signings of Dmitry Orlov and Michael Bunting. Walt discussed what these players offer the organization and how they’ll benefit the team this upcoming season. He also shared the connection that Michael Bunting, a winger acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs, already has with current players on the roster.

Also, the Charlotte Hornets had a relatively quiet first day of free agency but did make a few key moves. They signed LaMelo Ball to a five-year designated rookie max extension that could be worth as much as $260 million. Forward Miles Bridges has signed a $7.9 million qualifying offer for the 2023-2024 season, clearing the way for him to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
