Mike Elko has signed a contract extension with Duke football through the 2029 season. Elko is coming off a 9-4 overall record in his first season with the Blue Devils and earned ACC Coach of the Year. He earned the Blue Devils a 5-3 record in ACC play, which equaled the second-best turnaround in ACC history and most wins since 2014.
Also, Garner N.C. native and former NC State running back Nyheim Hines is expected to miss the 2023 season after suffering a knee injury in a freak jet ski accident. Hines was stationary and was struck by another individual operating a jet ski. Hines was expected to provide more of a role to the Bills offense this upcoming season.
