When she was 15 years old, WRAL producer Kathy Del Hoyo had to try to translate the house buying process to her Spanish speaking mother. That moment stayed with her as she eventually learned to navigate the process for herself to buy her second home, this time in the Triangle. She shares what it’s like being a Latina homeowner in the area, and making her and her husband’s house their own.

As more people and businesses choose to move to North Carolina, the real estate market has seen a significant impact. Yes, Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill (The Triangle) have seen changes, but plenty of growth is happening outside that area too in places such as Clayton, Pittsboro, and Garner.
