The Carolina Hurricanes beat the Florida Panthers, 4-0, at PNC Arena Friday night extending their winning streak to 10 games. That's the longest in franchise history. It also extends their stretch of getting at least one point to 16 consecutive games, which was already a franchise best. Carolina used special teams to dispatch the Panthers. The Canes scored three times on the power play and turned aside all six of Florida's man-advantage situations. It was the first time all year the Hurricanes rang up three power play goals in a game and the fourth goal came just seconds after another power play expired. Stefan Noesen, Andrei Svechnikov, Teuvo Teravainen and Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored goals, while Brent Burns and Seth Jarvis each had two assists. The Hurricanes will next play on Sunday -- New Years Day -- in New Jersey in a game that starts at 3:00.
