Derek Stepan scored twice, Martin Necas and Sebastian Aho added special teams goals and Antti Raanta made 24 saves in a wild shootout win in Newark. Carolina has now won 11 in a row and earned at least one point in 17 straight games (15-0-2). Andrei Svechnikov's shootout goal was the only one to find its way through and when Raanta stopped Jack Hughes penalty try the celebration was on. Carolina now has a 25-6-6 record for 56 points, 7 more than New Jersey in the Metropolitan Division race. Next up, the Rangers Tuesday in New York.
