Episode Description

The Carolina Hurricanes hung on for a 6-5 win over the Philadelphia Flyers Friday night, going into the Christmas break on an 8-game winning streak and boasting a franchise best 14 game point streak. The Jordan Staal, Jordan Martinook and Jesper Fast line was the Hurricanes' best -- again -- combining for 3 goals and 5 assists as Carolina built a 6-2 lead through two periods. What happened in the 3rd period is easily flushed because it didn't cost the team anything. But, allowing two shorthanded goals as Philly made the Canes sweat out the finish wasn't ideal. Antti Raanta won his second game in as many nights as Pyotr Kochetkov was nursing a lower body injury. Carolina is off until Tuesday night when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
