Stokley and Evans with Mark Schlereth

For the fourth and final hour of the day on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they share their feelings about the Western Conference Finals after the Avs dropped game one of the series. Execution was the theme of Jared Bednar’s postgame press conference after last night’s loss to Vegas. They pick out a few Avs who need to step up their game. They get more reaction to the Avs’ game 1 loss, explaining how important Cale Makar’s absence is and forbidding Stoke from going to any more games. Mike and Stoke wrap up the first hour debating what the the Avalanche will do at goalie after the game one loss to Vegas.  

For the fourth and final hour of the day on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, we get a huge update on Cale Makar’s status for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. They discuss the possibility that the Avalanche will be without Cale Makar and highlight the depth the Avs have across the roster. Stink shares his number 1 concern about tonight’s game 1 matchup as the guys break down their attendance record. Marcello, Stink, and Stoke cap off today’s show with their predictions for the Western Conference Finals.  

In hour three of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they discuss how to handle the goalie tandem. They preview tonight's Game 1 matchup against Vegas as they worry about Cale Makar’s status for tonight’s tilt. Cello asks the players about how pro athletes are wired, is it possible to get the hunger and dawg mentality back after losing it? They dive into the mental aspect of the Stanley Cup playoff grind between managing the grind, how Gabe’s leadership affects the team, and both teams’ playoff pedigree.  

In the first hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Marcello Romano sits in for Mike as the guys preview the beginning of the Western Conference Finals for the Avalanche. A veteran coach just hit the market and the guys bang the table for the Nuggets to bring in some help for David Adelman. They look at the long odds favoring the Avs in the Western Conference Finals but are those odds telling the whole story? Marcello and Stoke wrap up the first hour hearing Kay Adams work her magic on Garrett Bolles.  

For the fourth and final hour of the day on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they give the 9am listeners a chance to hear what our 9News Broncos Insider Mike Klis had to say about the Broncos tough schedule. Stink and Stoke argue about how much effort to put into the function they’re going to after the show before they get Paul Bissonette’s take on the blue line matchup in the WCF. Mike advises Stoke to call an audible before the guys hear from a reputable(?) NFL source that has some good news about the Broncos’ season opener. The Morning Crew cap off today’s show looking at positions of need that the Broncos could add to over the summer.  

In hour three of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, the Morning Crew gets a medical opinion from a former NFL team doctor about the Broncos’ week 1 opponent. They do some mythbusting on one of the most prominent rookie QB narratives. Ross Tucker has a take on the folks complaining about the schedule, what do our former players have to say on the topic? Mike argues why the Vegas Golden Knights are going to be the Avs’ toughest opponent yet. The Morning Crew wrap up the third hour with a difficult question: has the Nuggets’ window closed?

For the second hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, the guys establish why the players missed out on Friday’s show before they preview the matchup the Avalanche face in the Western Conference Finals. Stink also missed out on the Broncos schedule reaction on Friday so the guys get his reaction to the Broncos’ tough early slate. Was the murderer’s row in the first 6 games a conspiracy against Sean Payton like Colin Cowherd thinks? They look ahead to set a roadmap for the Nuggets’ path back to the Finals after the MVP race results came out. They discuss the Avs’ Western Conference Finals matchup as they debate the benefits of rest versus rust. Stoke missed out on the Broncos schedule reaction on Friday so he gets his chance to give his take on the tough 6-weeks to open the football season. Mike and Stoke try to get a read on the Avs’ opponent in the Western Conference Finals: the Vegas Golden Knights. Aaron Rodgers is back in Pittsburgh, how does that affect their matchup with the Broncos later in the season? Mike gets Stoke’s status for tomorrow’s show before they wrap up the first hour trying to decode a bunch of Gen Z slang.  

For the fourth and final hour of the day on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Mark and Stoke are out today so Mike is joined by the lovely and talented James Merilatt to definitely not upset any Avalanche fans who may be listening by saying that he’s concerned about the Avs after they have gone 8-1 in the playoffs so far.  And then it’s everybody’s favorite segment of the week, Trivia!!!  The guys try to avoid going 2-2 again and with James Merilatt in studio and it being Joe’s last day filling in for AI Ty AKA (the KumiTy) that might actually happen.   

In hour three of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, James Merilatt is sitting in with Stoke and Stink out, and he starts out being overly negative about everything, but Mike starts to make some progress and gets him to change his Broncos prediction.  Mike and James continue to break down The Broncos schedule and look at which games they feel people should be concerned about, and James gives some Nuggets trade hypotheticals to try and get them out of the first-round next year.   

For the second hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Stoke and Stink are out today so we welcome in the lovely and talented James Merilatt to keep us all calm and relaxed.  The Avalanche are moving on to the Western Conference Finals and we now know their opponent will be the Vegas Golden Knights, Mike and James get into how this series can go and who is actually on the Vegas Golden Knights who have had some big roster changes in recent years.  And James Merilatt had a good idea about whether or not Sean Payton will retire if the Broncos win a Superbowl.   

In the first hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Stoke is out today, so we welcome in the lovely and talented James Merilatt to bring his calming demeanor and measured takes.  The Avalanche are 8-1 in the playoffs and get ready to take on the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western conference finals, and shockingly James Merilatt isn’t impressed.  

For the fourth and final hour of the day on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, the guys react to the Game 5 comeback win for the Avalanche as they move onto the Western Conference Finals.

In hour three of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, the Avalanche got a massive win last night to advance to the Western Conference Finals on the back of a goalie switch, and the guys get into what could have happened if all the decisions by Jared Bednar didn’t work and chaos ensued.   

For the second hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth as Mark joins the show the guys just gush about the Avalanche game from the previous night and how well Scott Wedgewood played.  According to Mark the Avs goalie situation is solved and the guy is Wedgy.  Now the guys take a look at the other Western Conference game and decide how they would rather play and also go in depth into the biggest reasons the Avs won this series.

In the first hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Mike is back and the Avalanche are going to the Western Conference finals, he and Stoke break down the game from last night and look forward to who the Avs might play.  After giving up three goals in the first period Mackenzie Blackwood was pulled in favor of Scott Wedgewood who sparked a huge come back, does this mean it’s his net going forward? And Stoke shares some big news about his dog Cody at the end of the hour.  

For the fourth and final hour of the day on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, John Davis sits in for Mike Evans to keep the show on the rails.  The Broncos are having rookie minicamp today, and new running back Jonah Coleman had some encouraging comments, and the guys get into what his role on the team might be this year and going forward.  And we close out the show with our predictions for game five against the Minesota Wild and whether or not they will close it out tonight.
