Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley kick off today’s show joined by Mark Schlereth live from Washington DC to preview the Broncos crucial game on Sunday, as well as giving the 6am listeners a chance to ask the big guy anything they want. They point out the implications of Sunday’s game that has been lost in the mix after the Colts game. Do you still trust the Broncos defense? The guys explain why they do. Stink calls Mike out for being so fickle with his belief in the Broncos before they hear Pat Surtain speak honestly about his performance in Indy. Mike, Mark, and Stoke finish the first hour with a special edition of Question Mark where the 6am listeners get their chance to catch up with Stink.

The guys refer to the text line, which prompts a story about Stink’s adoring fans. The Morning Crew discuss QB mentality after hearing Courtland Sutton talking about how competitive Bo really is. Mike, Stink, and Stoke do Question Mark with the 7am listeners before they dive into 4 Down Territory where they tell Bronco fans how the Broncos can win on Sunday, the Bills’ dominance over the Fins, dreaming of an 0-3 start for KC, and more late-night local games. Mike and Stoke hold Stink’s feet to the fire before the big guy has to go.

They dig into the Chargers game and their mentality, can the Chargers handle being frontrunners? The guys conclude that Sunday’s game is a must-win if the Broncos have any hope of winning the AFC West. The guys are joined by our NFL Insider, James Palmer, to get his take on a must-win game, the Broncos’ defense, and some rumblings around the NFL. We finish the third hour getting Stoke’d Up about all of the must-win games that are happening for the local football teams at both levels.

Mike and Stoke close out the week getting the results of their Wyoming ‘Pokes fans’ survey before they make their fearless predictions for the weekend of football ahead.  

HOUR 1

Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley open the second hour talking a disgruntled 7am listener down from the ledge over the Broncos’ banged up free agents before they lay out the odds for the Rockies’ quest for 120. The nerds at PFF are very down on Bo but are they on the mark or are the numbers lying? Mike asks Stoke how the Broncos can get better at closing out games. Urban Meyer brought up a question about Jim Harbaugh that has Mike intrigued, but Stoke gets fuming mad about the implications and the precedent. The guys finish the 2nd hour in 4 Down Territory where they cover Troy Franklin’s ascendance, bully ball, and Coach Capri Pants’ last stand.

They share some stories from card shows, including Stoke’s Yogi Berra story and Stink playing second fiddle to Joe Namath. Stoe finishes the first hour taking Mike to task for vetoing having Peyton Manning on the show before the guys listen to some great sound of PFM breaking down halftime adjustments and the route tree.

Mike goes into panic mode after the Broncos’ performance, writing them off as contenders after another uneven performance. The script flipped in the game versus the Colts, the defense struggling this time, and it makes Mike wonder if this defense that got so much preseason hype is overrated. The guys debate an “Oh Really!?” before they discuss the performances in the trenches that played a huge role in the game. Mike, Mark, and Stoke finish today’s Reaction Monday talking about how much the defense let the team down.

They give a concession to The Drive before Mike tells us about going to Oktoberfest in Munich. They hear Vance Joseph rave about the secondary, talking up Talanoa Hufanga and explaining how they’re handling Jahdae Barron’s development. Mike and Stoke finish the first hour answering some Is It Just Me’s about Mike’s to-do lists and hearing Adam Silver’s tone-deaf response to the basketball fans who have to pay to watch the NBA.
