Stokley and Evans with Mark Schlereth

In the 3rd hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Stoke’s report about Sean Payton taking back the play calling duties seems to be corroborated and confirmed. The Morning Crew go in depth on the impact that Payton’s coaching will have on the team, how he will coach up Bo, and the miscalculation of changing in the first place. The hear one of Bo’s responses at his press conference yesterday and it has the guys worried that he’s been brow-beaten or just seeing ghosts. Mike, Mark, and Stoke end the all-about-Bo hour pitching ideas for how to make things easy for him on Sunday.  

In the 2nd hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Stink hears Stoke’s report about the play calling and he comes away unsurprised. Will changing the play caller help the execution? They hear Bo talking about his performance against the 49ers and one of his answers has all three hosts very, very worried about the young QB’s mindset. A Hall of Fame QB added his opinion to the Bo Nix autopsy and the guys react to it. The Morning Crew wrap up the second hour in 4 Down Territory where they hear the Chargers talk, the NFLPA is doing some very important work, and the new week of football kicks off.  

In the 1st hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they kick off the morning with a look at the Broncos and Chargers injury reports. Stoke makes a report, just like Mark Schelreth, about Sean Payton taking over play calling. Mike explains why he hates Justin Herbert before they hear Sean Payton explain how the Broncos can improve as the season goes along. Mike and Stoke wrap up the hour hearing what Joel Klatt had to say about the local college teams.  

For the 4th and final hour on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they get the listeners to weigh in on the Jokic pass debate. They discuss why the national talking heads are so defensive of Justin Herbert. Stink makes a blasphemous comment about Justin Herbert compared to Bo Nix. They look at the state of CU football and they see an ugly ending coming, but Mike sees a happy ending for everybody involved. The Morning Crew cap off today’s show once again getting the listeners’ take on the Bo vs Herbert debate.  

In the 3rd hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they discuss if the Broncos’ strength of schedule makes them feel better about the 2-2 record. Fox Sports’ Lead College Football Analyst, Joel Klatt, hops on the line to break down Bo’s bad game against the 49ers, air his concerns about Bo’s conservative play, and the drama happening at CU and CSU. They rant about the Rockies’ ticket price hike this past 100-loss season... after three prior 100-loss seasons. Mike and Stoke wrap up the third hour pleading their cases about Jokic’s incredible cross-court, behind the back, no-look pass to Stink.  

In the 2nd hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they kick off Chargers week with their observations about the Bolt’s dysfunction from the outside looking in. They hear Walker Monfort talk about the Rockies' ownership situation and speculate when, not if, the Walton-Penner Group will take over. It looks like the Coach Prime era is winding down, does Coach Prime have an exit plan for another team? Will another team take him? The Avs skate with the Jets in Winnipeg tonight, can they come away with 2 points and an elite new goaltender? The Morning Crew wrap up the second hour in 4 Down Territory where Dre Greenlaw gets fined, broadcasting musical chairs on the horizon, Houston and Tennessee catching strays, and the expiration date of Lamar’s playstyle.  

In the 1st hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they look for reasons for optimism for the Broncos after a week of consternation. They listen to the refreshing negativity coming from Walker Monfort. Mike rebuts a take from Cecil Lammey about Bo Nix before they preview the Avs’ matchup tonight with Winnipeg. Could they fly home with Hellebuyck? Mike and Stoke kick off Chargers week with Justin Herbert’s season by the numbers and Stoke’s anxieties about the game. Stoke wraps up the first hour pouring cold water on the amazing pass Jokic made in the preseason and getting an update on Kris Bryant’s status.  

For the 4th and final hour on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they hear what Mike Klis had to say about the Broncos’ key injuries to their starting corners and Pat Bryant. They worry about how thin the Broncos suddenly look at corner. A friend of the show, Dan Orlovsky, broke down some of Bo’s plays that never were. The guys look ahead to the Broncos’ matchup with the Chargers and they pick out what Bo has to be better at to bounce back. There can’t be a discussion about Bo’s play this season and they wonder if the ankle injury is still on his mind. They hear Sean Payton talk about Bo’s performance and discuss the issues with the way the team has handled the roster. Mike asks the former players to pitch some ideas on how to get Bo back on track after a bad week. Stink breaks down a bunch of big plays that could’ve been made... but weren’t because of Bo Nix’s conservative play against the 49ers in his Telestrator Tuesday film breakdown.  

In the 2nd hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, the fashion police emerge before Stink meets Mike in the middle about the run game and the passing game. Stink makes a bold declaration about the (poor) quality of Bo Nix’s play and they hear Dan Orlovsky break it down as well. Stoke breaks down one good play and one bad play from Bo Nix in the loss to the 49ers in his Telestrator Tuesday film breakdown. The Morning Crew wrap up the second hour in 4 Down Territory where the Broncos have some key injuries and Stink has an... interesting idea to protect QB’s.

The Broncos spoke yesterday where Sean Payton was grasping at straws and Mike McGlinchey gave his two cents on the run game issues. Champ Bailey spoke about the Broncos’ issues on offense and it has the guys wondering why they can’t just force-feed their best weapons and why Bo has seemingly regressed to a checkdown QB. They break down Bo’s bad day in the bay by the numbers and wonder why he’s playing it so safe. Mike and Stoke are joined by our 9News Broncos Insider, Mike Klis, to get a timetable on all the injuries the Broncos sustained in Santa Clara and to get his breakdown on Bo’s decision making.  

For the 4th and final hour on Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, they speculate when or if Sean Payton would take play calling duties back from Davis Webb. Mike explains why he thinks it wouldn’t make a difference anyway. There was a sideline report during the 49ers game that got the guys’ ears perked up about Bo’s ankle, is there something to it or are they being alarmists? The guys break down the reasons why the Broncos’ offense has been so dink-and-dunk. They put the focus on the players for the offensive issues and debate where Bo is in his development. Stink breaks down the offensive line’s role in the Broncos offensive struggles between Bo’s pocket presence and the running game. They look at an area where the fans could blame the coaches for a key issue on offense. The Morning Crew wrap up the second hour in 4 Down Territory where they take a look around the AFC West and the local college scene.  

In the 1st hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Mike tries to present a silver lining to the listeners before they dig into the issues they saw with the team that they saw the last few weeks. He gives us the broader view of the 49ers and he tells us how healthy the 49ers will be on Sunday. He gives the national perspective on the controversial pass interference call on Sunday night. James lets everybody in on the gossip around the AFC West, including the latest on Jonathan Cooper’s time on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Mike, Mark, and Stoke pivot to the 49ers’ biggest weapons and how to stop them. Mike and Stink come up with a conspiracy to prank (read: poison) Stoke.
