Episode Description

Wendy Lou Whoo turned to heavy drinking to forget her pains when her life started to fall apart. Her marriage was on the rocks. She had lost her faith and wanted to do what was best for her family, but didn't know how. Luckily, Wendy had some great friends who helped her get into rehabilitation for alcohol abuse, so she started the therapy and recovery she really needed. Now, years later, she is divorced, has a healthy relationship with alcohol and her kids, is a master esthetician, and is helping others by sharing her story. She joins this episode of Relentlessly Resilient to inspire others to seek out therapy, rehabilitation, and discover the deeper roots of their own dependency issues.

Even though we live in challenging times, we can become Relentlessly Resilient as we lean on and learn from one another’s experiences. Hosts Jennie Taylor and Michelle Scharf are no strangers to overcoming adversity; Michelle lost her husband to cancer, while Jennie’s husband, Major Brent Taylor, was killed in the service of our country. Their stories bond them together, and now listeners can join them weekly as they visit with others enduring challenges and who teach us how they are exercising resiliency, finding value in their grief, and purpose in moving forward.
