Episode Description
Now that AI is becoming more streamlined and widely available, many industries have embraced it for its quick results and cost-saving features. So, how is it affecting the arts industry? Honestly, my favorite example involves Randy Travis who, with the help of AI, not only gained his voice back – it also gave the country legend the opportunity to release his first new music in 10 years. But wait, there’s more! According to Niko Moon, songwriters have found a creative way to use AI saying, “I’ve been hearing that, here in town with songs that are being pitched artists, one of the guys in the room will sing the demo. Then they’ll transfer it over into Jelly Roll or Morgan’s voice or something, so that when they hear that song pitched to them, they’re actually hearing themselves singing it.” Daggum, that sounds like a creative and effective way to get your songs noticed. Heck, it is downright innovative. All that in mind, clearly country music has room for the practical application of AI – and that is okay. Just as long as it never replaces the heart, soul and passion of the musical arts, which is the human element.
I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.
