Episode Description

A local boy scout is using his brother's recent cancer recovery to help local blood banks. Owen Waldron is holding a blood drive in honor of his brother Bryson's Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer recovery. He joins Maria Shilaos to talk more about the motivations for his Eagle Scout service project and why his brother's journey has inspired him so much.

The blood drive will be held on January 9th from 1 pm to 7 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1845 East 7200 South in Cottonwood Heights. If you'd like to sign up to donate blood, call 801-584-5272 or visit utahblood.org. Owen will also be collecting children's blankets and hats for Primary Children's Hospital cancer patients; those interested are welcome to donate as well.
