Congress debates major funding cuts to public media

Major cuts to public broadcasting are moving closer to a reality after Vice President JD Vance had to cast a tie-breaking procedural vote on a rescissions package late last night. The package would gut funding to public broadcasters like PBS and NPR, both of whom have spoken out against the proposal. They're defending the value of public broadcasting while also pushing back on accusations of bias.
