Episode Description

In this deep-dive, Inside Sources host Greg Skordas and guest host Jim Bennett discuss several aspects dealing with the ongoing drought that's plaguing both Utah and the rest of the West. In this special coverage, they discuss:

  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' recent statement on the drought, encouraging members to take both personal steps and support public efforts to conserve water.

  • How the drought has added additional strain on our reservoirs and whether or not the monsoonal moisture we've received has helped. They're joined in the studio by Laura Haskell, drought coordinator with Utah Division of Water Resources.

  • The effect of the drought on wildlife. With hunting season starting soon and bear encounters doubling this year, the drought has been pushing more wildlife to find food and resources in different places. Faith Heaton Jolly, PIO at the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, joins the conversation.
