Spanish Fork city council approves code change that paves the way for data center construction

After much debate, back-and-forth among the city council, and a lot of public feedback, it appears a plan to change city code in Spanish Fork -- which would allow a data center to be built -- will go ahead. The city council voted 3-2 last night to change part of city code dealing with data centers with onsite power generation facilities. But what does that mean? What happens next? And how do city leaders find balance between those vehemently opposed to data centers and those who welcome the opportunities? Spanish Fork Mayor Mike Mendenhall explains the development.
