Report: State of Utah could have done more to prevent deaths of three men with disabilities

A new report from the Disability Law Center (DLC) launches some pretty strong claims against the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, saying their lack of oversight and action played a role in the deaths of three men with disabilities earlier this year. Investigators say three men with disabilities were left alone in a running vehicle for hours last February, when their provider left them in his garage and went upstairs to eat and watch TV. While the legal process to determine fault plays out, DLC says the state should take a closer look at the alleged role it played in the tragedy.
