New polling shows what Utahns don’t like about proposed data centers

Looking back on 2026, arguably the biggest story in Utah will be the pushback to data center expansions. From Box Elder County to Mona and down south to Iron County, communities across the state have been voicing a lot of concerns with these plans. And the data backs it up -- new polling just out from the Deseret News and Hinckley Institute of Politics finds that a majority of Americans -- and even more so, Utahns -- don't want these data centers in their community.
