The wildland firefighting community is mourning again. Nate Matthews, 43, a 10-year veteran from Lincoln, Nebraska, has died from burn injuries suffered during the June 27 burnover on the Utah-Colorado border — making him the fourth firefighter killed in the same incident. Three other crew members died at the scene, and a fifth remains hospitalized. The Knowles Fire has since been overtaken by the Snyder Fire. Then, we turn to a local arson case: a judge will consider Tuesday whether to grant bail to a West Jordan man accused of setting the Timp Fire that evacuated the Timpooneke Campground in American Fork Canyon. Greg shares the latest and what is to be expected in court.
