Episode Description

Two big names in tech, two big promises to give back, and two very different ideas about how to do it. Artificial intelligence company Anthropic says it’s putting 5% of its stock into a new public benefit fund -- potentially worth tens of billions of dollars -- to support several causes, including the fallout from AI on the workforce. Elon Musk says he wants to give a share of SpaceX to every kid in America, a pledge that could top $10 billion. Are these moves about genuine public good, managing the industry’s image, or a little of both?
