Supreme Court agrees to hear arguments in TikTok banning case 
This morning, the United States Supreme Court agreed to hear arguments from TikTok and parent company ByteDance ahead of the January 19th deadline to sell the US part of the company or be banned. Oral arguments are scheduled for January 10th. Inside Sources begins with a recap of this situation. 

House Ethics Committee to release report on Fmr. Congressman Matt Gaetz 
The American public may soon be able to see a House Ethics Committee report on former Congressman Matt Gaetz. It’s a reversal from an earlier decision to keep the report sealed. Hosts Greg Skordas and Leah Murray discuss some of the things we may see in the report. They also talk about the secret vote that led to this decision reversal. 

1,500-page Continuing Resolution draft released; still needs to be voted on 
A government shutdown may be avoided after all. Last night, a Continuing Resolution was released to Congress, hoping to avoid a government shutdown this Friday. The CR still needs to be voted on, and with only a couple days left, there could still be trouble. Also, at 1,500 pages, is it really a Continuing Resolution anymore? Inside Sources discusses some of the things in the CR. 

VP Kamala Harris speaks to young people about political future 
“Stay in the fight” -- that’s the message Vice President Kamala Harris is sharing with young people following her loss in last month’s presidential election. Her message touched on some points where Democrats failed during the election and what the Party could do to be more successful in the future. We hear some of Harris’ words and the hosts share their analysis. 

On the Hill 2025: Previewing legislation on community development 
Even though Republicans have a supermajority on Utah’s Capitol Hill, Democrats introduce bills they hope will gain bipartisan support. State Senator Nate Blouin is working on a few pieces of legislation he hopes will be able to pass, including something on community development. He joins Inside Sources to preview that and a few of his other bills. 

Federal judges postponing retirement due to Trump’s election 
Public opinion of the judicial system has soured in recent years, with many saying the courts today are too political. Now, several federal judges across the country say they’re postponing their retirement plans because of Donald Trump’s election. Inside Sources discusses whether these decisions help or hurt public confidence in the judiciary. 

Backseat seat belt alarms to be required beginning in 2027 
You know that ‘dinging’ sound that goes on and on and on if you or someone in the passenger seat don’t put your seat belt on when the car is moving? That alarm will soon be a thing in the backseat as well. Leah and Greg finish the show discussing the appropriateness of government legislating things like this.
