9-year-old Casey McNerthney calls Dori Monson, answers a sports trivia question and wins a prize.

33 years later, a grown-up Casey —  now a spokesman for the King County prosecutor's office —  joined John Curley to remember Dori Monson, who, for 30 years after this call, stayed in touch.

Before his passing in 2023, Dori Monson was a hard-hitting, side-splitting and (occasionally) gut-wrenching government watchdog. A Dori Monson Show feature had been honored with two national Edward R. Murrow awards. Dori was also a finalist for the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award’s Radio Large Market Host of the Year.
