Decline of 'third places' leads to increased loneliness

The U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy declared a national loneliness and social isolation epidemic throughout the country in 2023. This amidst a decline in the amount of 'third places', or a social space that's separate from home and work where people can connect.
