US adults spend an average of $91 on subscription services each month, and nearly half have signed up for a free trial of a paid subscription and then forgotten to cancel it, a CNET survey found. Utah legislators are aiming to combat these surprise subscription charges by requiring subscription-based services to notify customers before any renewals. Sen.
